I never knock a team for choosing to bat first in a test match (check the statistics out) What I can’t fathom is not picking BROAD in the prevailing conditions I’ve said it many times already, ROOT is a top top class batsman, he’s a bloody awful captain |

The chances of weather saving England are ashley not what people might think. More likely perhaps with overhead conditions England might still be in the game. Not sure how much time will be lost out there but with this abject batting we might need to lose two whole days as a minimum for the draw!

I listened to the first 3 overs and switched the radio off. Can't say I was surprised. We have not had a credible opening batsman since Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook.

Very well controlled bowling performance from the lads. Really good to see the catches taken and thought we were really good in the field. There is a long way to go and the Pommies could do with supporting their team and not dismissing them after one bad day.

We can support them until the cows come home but their not good enough mate. We’re a poor batting unit with mid pace bowlers to boot.

hot,dry conditions,flat runway of a pitch who wouldn't want to bat 1st with a renowned super strong batting line-up and put the Aussies under pressure with a commanding total having said that see the line for the Oz total runs is 360.5 i'd be very surprised if they got that think our bowlers may acquit themselves better than ppl think |

I think you are right but there is still a lot of cricket to be played. Whispering forecasted a 5-0 win for you and he knows a lot about the great game.So there must be some hope.

We needed Archer to at least give us that and even then i didnt think was enough Its mid to low 80s rubbish and itll get short as we go to boot We’re in for a long series that is for sure |
