The Aussie commentary is going to be tough in this series.

Malan's boundary was 'streaky'? A defensive push that never got more than six inches off the ground. They are going to have to get to used to a few streaky shots from David in this series if that's the case.

The aussie commentary are better than our lot though

But Malan is an awful test batsman

No idea why we didnt bowl though

Theres no way this lineup puts anything substantial on the board

Excellent bounce on this wicket. A little disappointing from Malan. Didn’t expect too much from Burns tbh. I think these wickets would have suited Crawley and he carries more of an attacking threat. Terrible start as usual. 30-3? Who’d a fought it!

Hameed looks a walking wicket as well

They do at least need to tough it out a bit and not get skittled

they didnt want to bat on a 5th day wicket...sadly it doesn't look like there will be 5 days at this rate lol.

I was hopeful Malan would bring his T20 game to the Tests.

Happy to leave the first twenty deliveries in T20 but two foot above stumps (and one foot wide), in fourth over of The Ashes...yup, I'm playing at that.

Get use to this throughout the series

The Aussie commentary trying to sell a turd to be fair to them

think Eng will have their moments sonts' in the series, three dodgies in the Oz batting and the d/n tests can be a leveller if you get the ball at the right time...

Hopefully brentford

We’re heavily reliant on Stokes though

Stokes penny for his thoughts when it comes to down under , hes yet to win a test in 15 attempts

I don't want to tempt fate but I am going to let the steak get up to room temperature and open the wine. Tbf it is going to be achallenging day to bat with cloud cover all day.

I have been a huge fan of hammed as some of you may know! Glad he is in the side. I think he has the mental toughness and technique at this level. Burns still has huge technical flaws. I would rather have Crawley in to put it back on Aus. crawley is tall and will score quickly as well as getting out! But we need another opener fo sho.

Are they allowed to call us POMS still?

I cannot stand these Aussie commentators!

The short bowling spells are very noticeable.

I can imagine some old school commentators (Holding springs to mind) who would be critical and claim that captains need to allow fast bowlers to get into a rhythm. Not according to Pat Cummins.

yep I guess any that play t20 regularly are so used to it now...not to mention not having to work off the hangovers these days...

Hameed has played very well.

His nick of a wide one through the slip cordon whilst his entire body was still a foot outside leg stump may be the worst shot I have ever seen from a Test batsmen but that aside he's done very well. Lets not pretend its been anything but extremely tough.
