At the start of the season the ECB stated that the county championship would be decided after the second stage, where each team would play four games and would not play the side that were promoted with.  I see that there is now another round of matches on 21 Sep, which means each team will then have played five games, including one against the team that they were promoted with!!  This is in total contradiction to the rules set out at the start of the season.  Can anybody throw some light on this?

you carry forward half points from the 2 games against the team you qualified with hence some teams have half a point in their total and then play the other 4 teams. that's how it's decided over 5 games
