Curse of the commentator! Vaughan was just saying what a big chance Crawley has here to stake his claim...out next ball!

and I am here Padowan. SG Barnes would have run through this lot by now on this wicket!

England have made more 400+ scores and ashley exceeded 300 with Denly. Maybe some people don't remember the 30-4 and 40-4 days!

why are england 1.38 here Confused

Because they are playing a real pace attack, with Jimmy Anderson who if he bowls anywhere near to his best, would run through the West Indies. This innings isn't completed yet and this looks a bowlers paradise if it stays overcast. 200/225 could well be a very good score, if conditions are like this later and tomorrow.

you think they will get 200?

Denley's greatest talent over the last year for England was the ability to play and miss (not get a nick)...unfortunately opposition bowlers have worked this out and simply bowl at the stumps.

Think England are making it look a minefield..so market assuming we will skittle through the windies batsmen...i'm not so sure

Shame. Betting would have been interesting if Stokes went

Have you been sleeping for the past decade?

Its England playing in England and only 5 down.

I have layed windies after the 4th wicket. looked a better bet than laying the draw.

Cartman,

I don't know if you have ever played cricket but against a new ball it is quite common to play and miss and indeed nick. Denly might not be a great batsmen but we don't have any at 3. His great skill was blunting a new ball to allow the others with talent to do their thang!

hes got the same problem as Bairstow..you could drive a bus through his bat/pad..he goes at everything with his hands...its another one day technique that is hapless in test cricket (eg. Jason Roy)...if hes was early 20's fair enough but he's mid 30's and a stop gap.

He is a stop gap!

We have seen olly pope emerge at 6.

Johnny Bstard has the talent but not the application. he has changed his technique but not his style. If he wants to play test Cricket he ought to adapt again

Joe must go i'm afraid, he wont be getting 50s enough if ever to justify selection.
By:

Root will come back 2nd test...Denly will keep his place and Crawley will be dropped....and that is so so wrong

Massive session now, i honestly don't see this Windies side crumbling like in the past because they have experience and depth now, a risky statement i know, but they could be batting in the best conditions, if they survive this evening well, might not many overs either..So England need another 200 or be hanging on come Sunday as pitch deteriorates somewhat........

Eric.Cartman
When: 09 Jul 20 13:54
Reckon your right...if sun comes out tomorrow and ball stops moving...reckon England could be in a bit of trouble...with hindsight the exclusion of Broad is probably a mistake...doubt this pitch will play to the strengths of Archer/Wood and with Anderson approaching 38, Archer coming back from injury and Wood's brittle body...it could go quickly pear-shaped.

I had to study the market page for a while to make sure I had it right. I would make it evens each of 2 and 100/1 a draw at the moment so I have backed Windies to win.
