i like worcs ew in div 2 round about 7/1
ive found in previous years ive been able to get a reasonable amount on in the bookies
ie £200ew sussex div 2 some years ago price was 7/2 betfred
got a £100 ew worcs @ 7/1 a couple of years ago that was hills
the do seem to be getting worse though !

I’ve managed 300 Essex 4/1
Report wondersobright March 22, 2019 7:35 PM GMT
the modifications to the toss have changed the CC quite a bit in recent years

I bet essex last year @ 7/2 & they were woeful at times
lost 3 home games which is v unusual for them as recent success has been built on fortress chelmsford

notts have poached clarke from worcs which is a big blow for them
but they should defo find it easier in div 2 like they normally do
be interested to see if brown continues to impress this ssn as he could be a handful

Surrey have got Plunkett. Remains to be seen how much they'll have the Curran brothers.

Yorkshire have signed Olivier.

BF didn't bother having a market up for the Dubai match this morning even though it had BBC radio coverage.
If you guys want these 3- and 4-day matches make sure at least one of you requests them each time. I just don't trust BF to do it automatically, even the County Divs.
Report VardonVoo. March 25, 2019 2:21 PM GMT
Well that's weird - BF suddenly have a market up for the MCC v Surrey match in Dubai. Seems that they put one up a day after it had already started - never known BF to do that before.

i was going to have a punt on my county (durham)
in div 2, 16-25/1 but they have made bancroft captain, and
that doesnt seem to be a popular decision.

i shall watch

agree with wondersobright about notts too
Report VardonVoo. March 26, 2019 2:52 PM GMT
Oh look - they forgot to put the individual match markets up, as predicted. And not one of us bothered to remind them to either.
Report VardonVoo. March 26, 2019 4:27 PM GMT
I've requested a late remedy but if they refuse can some of you guys back me up, please? I'm expecting hassle cos the matches are already underway but the same was true of the MCC/Surrey match which I believe went up a day late.

That warm up/exhibition match in Dubai has no interest to me but I will be trading the county championship.  You need to have a facility for drudgery when trading that, its hard work to obtain anthingy worthwhile.

I also hope they aren't adding to the delay on BBC on-line commentaries, they seem to get worse every y5ar though when % Live Xtra has them on they are right up with play.

Do forgive me Blush the 5 and the % share the same key.

donny - Div 2 is wide open so the price on Durham looks attractive. All the focus will be on Lancs and Middx but I don't see any one team dominating.

I can't see past a Surrey / Essex 1/2 for div 1, it's framed (for me) by how many from each county get into the England squad this summer. Will probs have a cheeky one on Essex - Surrey are one injury to Morkel away from having an average season.

Div 2 looks more interesting, Sussex are better value for a pre-season punt than either Lancs or Middlesex. Whenever I've checked up on the pre-season county matches, it seems to be Lancashire taking a hammering.

Off topic but would YOU prefer to see a draw no bet as the main betfair market on these games?

Personally I feel like I’d need less examination of the weather forecast before being on.

Maybe market liquid that reflects the large betting companies odds? Bots might be set 365 plus a couple of ticks?
Report drever March 27, 2019 3:21 PM GMT
wouldnt like to see draw no bet in county matches ,quite often draw goes v short day 3 only to get turned over
Report VardonVoo. March 27, 2019 10:08 PM GMT
Terrible idea - I feel "Draw No-Bet" markets are for outcome-orientated punters, much loved by betting shops, so maybe it would be worth asking BF Sportsbook to feature them.

Active exchange traders on the other hand thrive on the interplay between the three possibilities of First Class and Test cricket. It's the only kind of sports gambling that many of us can make a profit from so, with all due respect, "no thanks" - we don't want this one avenue reduced further with more simplified binary=outcome versions of the markets. You can always bet on the Sheffield Shield games where the draw is absorbed into their points system. The liquidity is still pretty low until the final day though.

On a different note, wasn't it amusingly ironic that the MCC v Surrey match in the desert, plagued as it was by several sand storms and probably heading for a draw anyway, ended when "rain stopped play"?
Report VardonVoo. March 27, 2019 10:12 PM GMT
Ignore that about the Sheffield - the final is a three outcome game, oddly different to the rest of the series.

Glamorgan to win CCD2, Royal London one day cup and T20 Blast.

Fair enough, my preference is the 3 way outcome aswell

But not if there is no liquidity it’s painful

As for sportsbook, if you can get a bet on there then you should swiftly give up gambling

I would adjust that to "if you WANT to get a bet on there...".
Their odds often seem to be as little as half what you can usually get matched at on the exchange.
It baffles me how their punters can't grasp how much extra value exists only a click or two away on the very same site!!

It's not the thre outcome format - liquidity is poor whenever there is no international interest
and especialy when there's no coverage.

It annoys me that terrestrial TV handed Test cricket to Sky but hasn't taken the opportunity to
grab a few County games. Not even one of the hundreds of sh!t Freeview channels has done it.

the problem with the 3 way market in the CC is it is open to integrity issues
innings forfeits & extremely sporting declarations are rarer now but they do still happen

certainly if you are playing the DNB markets you need to know how to use them to your advantage
likewise the 3 ways
Report wondersobright March 30, 2019 4:45 PM GMT
I remember when middlesex beat yorkshire to the CC a few years ago, a televised game on sky, the 3 way market on here was probably the most entertaining game of cricket from a trading point of view that I have ever seen

the game dynamics (and corresponding title ramifications) involving the draw in that game were something that only true longer form cricket fans can understand as it doesn't occur in any other sport
Report wondersobright March 30, 2019 4:47 PM GMT
middlesex had to bring yorkshire back into the game (thus increase their chances of losing) in order to increase their chances of winning
the kind of nuances that only the goat provides Love

Agree fully with the above re: keeping 3 way outcomes.

In terms of this season...

I've opposed Kent heavily on the spreads..where are the wickets going to come from without Henry? I'm also looking to back Notts for Div 1 ew ,the bowling looks very strong, particularly for the first half of the season, and they've made some good signings.

Div 2 looks very open, I quite like Middx with TRJ back.

Great start for our boys..two out of two..could this be the year.
Still worried about the batting but the bowlers look very strong
Report mafeking April 14, 2019 12:40 AM BST
yep got the the bowlers to cover all conditions with the overtons, gregory and brooks and then leach and bess should the sun ever come out. batting is a touch flaky but the tail bats reasonably deep. young george bartlett showing promise

a likely 30 point lead already over surrey even if they have a game in hand certainly isn't to be sniffed at
Report isleham April 19, 2019 4:44 PM BST
starting well in the 50 overs..as usual national selectors ignoring the western county.
Report mafeking April 21, 2019 1:07 PM BST
that's good, though, isn't it ? even jack leach unlikely to play in the ashes. moeen is always gonna be first choice at home
Report mafeking June 6, 2019 2:09 PM BST
never mind the world cup zum's dominance of the county scene continues. 50 over comp already in the bag. most enjoyable day at lords with the result not in doubt from ball one

romped home today after game was in the balance overnight with no azhar or gregory too. just gotta keep trying to build as a bigger a lead as possible while we have momentum. massively to our advantage that both games against surrey out of the way too. gotta think they'll find some form sooner or later and take points off the others
Report Garden Of Gulab June 8, 2019 11:00 PM BST
Mafe - no reason to assume that Surrey will improve, they have a lengthy injury list, particularly amongst the bowlers. I watched them a couple of weeks back against Kent and they were very average.

I post a bit of **** on here now and then in terms of who I fancy over a season and my feeling for a Surrey / Essex 1/2 looks like being right up there alongside my other rubbish predictions.
Report mafeking June 13, 2019 3:33 PM BST
incredible win in between dodging the rain. few more weeks washed out wouldn't go amiss now ! CoolDevil
