This is a thread to keep track of instances in cricket matches where 1.01 was either fully or half-gubbed (i.e. traded at evens), plus times when the odds recovered to a useful level, say 1.2 upwards.

For Test and 1st Class matches we should also include outcomes that traded at 100+ (for more than a token amount) then came in below, say, 6s,

In addition let's keep a track of matches that flip-flopped one or more times having traded significantly away from evens between flips.

Once we have enough data, plus a count of how many BF markets there were for that format, or perhaps by tournament, we might gain some useful insights.

Just detail of the matches plus any comments in the same post - let's not lose the actual numbers amongst a load of chit-chat.

Caribbean Super 50 - didn't spot any gubbings but there were a couple of reasonable trades.

Barbados v Jamaica - Barbados 1.02 traded up to 1.4+ and back.

Guyana v West Indies Emerging Team  - Guyana 1.02 traded up to 1.6+ and back.

I was a bit premature there - that Guyana match went on to trade at 1.01 then back up to 3.0+ before going on to win.

New Zealand v England 5th T20 (Deciding Match)

Shortened to 11 overs, NZ notched up 146 runs.

NZ traded at 1.10 for £12k but bounced to 4.5+
then down to 1.06 for £19k which bounced to 13.5 (£225).

In the end it was a TIE, so a Gubbing of at least 1.02 "NO"

Qalandars v Abu Dhabi ended in a Tie. I think 1.02 would have been the lowest odds traded for that Gubbing.

One of the few times I've watched the Match Odds (inc. Tie) market during a near-tie situation - quite weird seeing all three results trading at (lowish) odds against.

Marsh One-Day Cup

South Australia v Victoria

SA went below 1.20 as they piled on some late runs, then the market flipped as Victoria looked on course to chase down the sizeable target. I didn't see how low they went as I got distracted for the last few overs, but as they came within two runs of winning with five wickets in hand probably pretty short. As they failed the market obviously flipped back, so that was a Double-Flipper.

Deccan Gladiators v Abu Dhabi

Completed Match "YES" 1.03 (£4,558) Fully Gubbed

There were a couple of short rain delays but plenty of time to get the minimum five overs in. However - bureaucracy at its finest - the game couldn't be restarted before the cut-off time cos the rules dictate that an adjusted DLS target has to be provided on paper, not just verbally. One of the commies smartly pointed out that the game could easily have been started provided the paper target was printed out before the end of the game. Why they could have scribbled it in crayon on some bog paper, who knows?

OK then, unless I missed seem gubbings over Xmas and New Year AND none of you had any to report either, then the only worthy mention so far goes to the 2nd Test in South Africa v England which surprisingly went right down to the last session on Day 5. Earlier in the match England had dipped to below 1.2 before going above 4.0 on in the final session but the real star trade (which I didn't get a piece of) was backing the draw at 50+, maybe as high as 125 and trading out below evens, as low as 1.33 (W.D. to W.D. if you got out of your 90 that low).

Weirdly, I've found that the WiFi that blocks certain (i.e. gambling) sites allows those same sites to
receive data for a good ten to twenty minutes or so once you switch back after loading the site through
a tethered mobile hotspot, so that's a useful "flaw in the ointment" that will save me a lot of data usage.

post it here, take out the part where it says "thumb" plus one of the divide signs next to it

Auckland matched at between 21 up to 50 earlier in the game.

It got very close - 2 runs were needed off 4 balls with 1 wicket remaining, then scores were levelled.
A boundary clinched it for Auckland with only a ball to go.

A noteworthy feature of that match was that Auckland declared their first innings almost 90 runs behind.
There was also at least one rain delay.

It's a shame there's so little coverage and minimal betting interest in these domestic 4-day matches as they can sometimes throw up some real gems.

Given the rarity of them, who amongst you reckon they should skip having a "Tie" market and apply Dead-Heat rules instead?

Karachi Kings v Islamabad United

Karachi Semi-Gubbed from 1.01 to above evens and back.

This Saffer momentum cup game has seen a fair amount done on Titans down to 1.33  Those Titans backers never stood a chance they are going down to a gigantic defeat.
