Lynn as an opener hasn't worked out. I don't expect that experiment to continue.
I've fancied KKR from the start, but Sunrisers do look a better bowling side. How many Warner gets will probably swing the match either way. SRH batting weak after the top 2. |

Lynn is a batting phenomena, but he previously played as a finisher (in the BBL as well), and KKR have lost 2 out of 3 with him opening. It seems to unbalance the team in a way Narine opening doesn't.
Anyway, I'd prefer to see GG open and Lynn at 5 or 6. |

From cricinfo,
KKR's batting power is at the top of their innings. They have scored the most runs in the Powerplay, with an average of 58.74 per game. They have the highest run-rate in the middle overs too - 1079 runs at 8.57 runs per over. They fade away towards the end overs though, scoring just 427 runs at 8.45 runs per over, the least among all teams. |

KKR win toss and bowl

I don't think it is the case that Lynn is a bad opener. He is brilliant.
The problem is GG has to open or he is rubbish. Uthappa has been poor since he returned from injury trying to hit every ball for 6. Pandey has not been able to time the ball since about the 4th or 5th match. The rest of the order is not capable of finishing an innings. |

Pandey injured today..out..

By:
oh my, Jordan getting a game
|
By:
Williamson and Yuvi back.
|
By:
Surprised Jordon for Nabi. Nabi is excellent and would have taken down Lynn in the powerplay.
|
By:
Surprised with Nabi out and Jordan in on a slow track..but may be Warner knows better
|
By:
Boult and Chawla playing for KKR. Poor KKR backers.
|
By:
KKR always had really good all rounders, their team not looking so strong without them
|
By:
Henriques injuried or just left out for Williamson?
|

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Gautam Gambhir(c), Robin Uthappa(w), Yusuf Pathan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishank Jaggi, Piyush Chawla, Umesh Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Trent Boult

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Yuvraj Singh, Vijay Shankar, Naman Ojha(w), Chris Jordan, Bipul Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul

SRH look much better with KW at 3
|
By:
Wouldnt have chosen Jordan tho, he's garbage!
|
By:
No reserve day as far as I know, how's the weather looking?
|
By:
I dont get the choice of Jordon and Bipul Sharma for Nabi and Mohammed Siraj.
Looking Jordons T20 league stats he averages 1.2 wickets a match with economy of 8.8. I can see Lynn and Narine tucking into and taking the game away. |
By:
Always confuses me as to why anyone picks CJ
|
By:
Chris Jordan went for 11.25 an over in his last IPL match. Doesnt look good.
|
By:
Wonder why CJ is good enough for England but not for SRH
![]() |
By:
Wouldnt pick him for England either!
|
By:
No you wouldn't but he gets picked...!!! Why !!!
|
By:
Jordan is one of the few players to have a better record bowling second.
Win rate bowl first : 45% Win rate bowl second : 66.7% sample size 35 T20 league matches. |
By:
What do we think of the pitch?
|
By:
Bit of life in it with it being under the covers
|
By:
Hard to assess it properly yet
|
By:
Market saying 162
|
By:
Unless you bowl short ..this would be like the usual Bangalore pitch this season..low and hard to score.
|
By:
Looks tricky to me.
|
By:
Warner normally pretty good on these pitches, doesn't play overly aggressive
|
By:
Warner so clear top 20 batsmen in the world
|
By:
on your ratings frog?
