Herath 50-50 to play, according to AM.
|
By:
Tim Southee in doubt apparently.
Hopefully they'll be more interest in this match. Think liquididy in the 1st test was hampered by the fact it was played on same days as Oz v India |
By:
think their may be good value in draw here, wellington pitch can give up plenty of runs and sl looked better in 2nd innings batting. Althought mac in form is really moving the match on.

Looks a green seamer.

It looked like that too for the games last year but it was still a great batting track pxb. So I think the team winning the toss should still bat first. Bit like the game in Christchurch. That greenness in NZ is deceiving.
|
By:
Thanks Tyco.
I was kind of aware of that, which is why I said 'looks'. Nowhere seems to have real green seamers any more. |
By:
No worries.. and I said team winning toss "should" bat first, but they have not been doing that. So it will be very interesting to see what they do decide to do. No rain in WEllington, few showers in the morning but its clearing.
|
By:
Southee fit to play for NZ... just out.
|
By:
Looks like the winner of the toss is going to bowl if MCCullum is anything to go by. I just think they may get it wrong again. 11am start.
|
By:
Pretty sure SL will do the same.
|
By:
SL win toss and bowl.
|
By:
If anyone wants slightly better value for SL then you can take my series score 1-1 bet instead of Match Odds. The match could be a tie, but it's still better value...
|
By:
Thinking NZ put up a decent score today, despite the pitch.
340/5? |
By:
Williamson is batting well, ably supported by Taylor. Nice batting track by the looks of things.
|
By:
well now Sri Lanka are bowling better is looks like...
|
By:
that pitch is very green
|
By:
15 wickets day 1. Tempted to have a small back of the draw as tends to be higher scores in later innings here.
|
By:
Hoping the wicket has flattened out and Sanga can put on 50+ with the tail to make a game of this.
|
By:
Sri Lanka will build a nice lead here imo
|
By:
that is an outstanding ton.
|
By:
Brilliant knock from Sanga. A lead of 100 odd here could be huge - surprised SL aren't shorter.
|
By:
Sanga 200
And I feel a major lump on SL is in order, even though I'm all green. |
By:
gd ffs got caught watching the NFL wild card play off game!
I have been looking for a Hail Mary and this was it! Not sure WI will survive at Newlands but that is interesting too and a possible twist lies in ambush with the pitch, just depends if they can dislodge Amla and AB. Here the odds look confusing as I haven't beeen following closely. Is the pitch evening out that much tomorrow? The odds look confuing |
By:
Draw price will crash if no wickets in first hour. New Zealand will bat for 2 days if they can
|
By:
well thing is 3 whole days to go! Pitch looks green still but that will hold it together so they may well bat well for 4-5 sessions. Then the prospect of rain, even light showers might spook a few so I am going with a long punt on the draw at 6
|
By:
I'd have SL favourites.
But with 3 days left and only a few showers, draw lay for me. Although WD is right, draw will drop when it actually rains. |
By:
Showers now forecast for last 2 days. Agree SL must be favourites but if New Zealand get a good start then draw will come in. Big question is how flat the pitch has become. Didn't watch yesterday and all reports focus on Sanga's 200 and don't touch on the actual match/pitch etc. Did anyone watch and have an informed view on pitch?
|
By:
|
By:
Would like to know this too, and whether NZ are capable of batting for the best part of 2 days on it
|
By:
Someone put up £90k to back NZ on the runs lines.
|
By:
How do people back so much and others lay 1000's of it and not end up with useless betfair accounts due to the Premium Charge. I really don't understand.
|
By:
Subcontinent bookies laying off.
|
By:
Excellent 1st hour for New Zealand.
|
By:
1 more wicket and then everyone will realise SL should be big favourites
|
By:
Yeah Sri Lanka can't lose this from here surely. NZ hoping for help from weather now
|
By:
Not much help from the weather, I'm afraid.
|
By:
weather although cloudy should be no rain next 3 days.
|
By:
Price just waiting for the new ball. 3 overs without loss with the new ball, may shoot straight up past 1.60 IMO.
|
By:
Dropped. lol
