Interesting to see how SL bounce back after the first Test, I am expecting some improvement.
No rain about in Wellington, but bad light may come into things late every day.
5 draws here out of last 10 tests at the basin. Only 2 of those results were hugely effected by rain.
8 from 10 the winner of the toss has sent the other team in, however, of the 5 results that has backfired, with 4/5 tests being won by the team being sent in, and the 5th match involved Bangladesh so can be taken with a grain of salt.
Average first inns total from last ten 351.5
Wait on toss for me.

Hopefully they'll be more interest in this match. Think liquididy in the 1st test was hampered by the fact it was played on same days as Oz v India |

think their may be good value in draw here, wellington pitch can give up plenty of runs and sl looked better in 2nd innings batting. Althought mac in form is really moving the match on.

It looked like that too for the games last year but it was still a great batting track pxb. So I think the team winning the toss should still bat first. Bit like the game in Christchurch. That greenness in NZ is deceiving.

No worries.. and I said team winning toss "should" bat first, but they have not been doing that. So it will be very interesting to see what they do decide to do. No rain in WEllington, few showers in the morning but its clearing.

I have been looking for a Hail Mary and this was it! Not sure WI will survive at Newlands but that is interesting too and a possible twist lies in ambush with the pitch, just depends if they can dislodge Amla and AB. well thing is 3 whole days to go! Pitch looks green still but that will hold it together so they may well bat well for 4-5 sessions. Then the prospect of rain, even light showers might spook a few so I am going with a long punt on the draw at 6

I'd have SL favourites.
But with 3 days left and only a few showers, draw lay for me. Although WD is right, draw will drop when it actually rains. |

Showers now forecast for last 2 days. Agree SL must be favourites but if New Zealand get a good start then draw will come in. Big question is how flat the pitch has become. Didn't watch yesterday and all reports focus on Sanga's 200 and don't touch on the actual match/pitch etc. Did anyone watch and have an informed view on pitch?
