Looks like there will be time to get 40 overs in the afternoon, but depends on how long it takes to clean up the morning rain.

there may be a window of 40 overs in the day, but the obvious danger/idiocy will be that it'll be scheduled to be something like a 54/60 over match which won't complete when the rain comes in the evening.

Looks it. Gone in with a fairly decent stake but not a "conviction bet" purely because of the chaos at Headingley. Rain coming from the West into Cardiff- usually means set for the day.

I was replying to DStyle, but you Nigel are right as well. Forecast changed to showers in the pm, which will kill it for the day. Taken a bit of the cm NO myself.

The only thing also keeping me away from a really big position is that there's a pretty active layer snapping up bets - could be a met office/other agency knowledgeable bod with better info.

If they can add 1 hour to scheduled finish time (think they can?) that would make it 7.15....40 overs required at 4 mins an over = 160 mins + 10 mins inns change = 170 mins needed. So would need to start around 4.25 I would guess. (though happy to be corrected!)

I have an office not far from the ground. Light rain currently falling with lots of cloud cover (some threatening) but also some lighter (even see the sun trying to get through) cloud as well.
I personally think it will get going approx. 2.30pm .... |

I have no doubt that play will star - nice window to get a game in. The problem however will be that they will schedule a 32 over game or whatever and we won't get through 20 of the chasing team's overs. If they said to themselves 'right we have 4 hours, 20 over game' then it'd be diff. That won't be the case though.

I am not a cricket expert so don't know the rules of how many overs etc ...... it is definitely lightening up around where I am (around 1/2 mile from ground) ... still bit of rain though.
Saw this on Tuesday ..... in the morning it was pissing down and then the whole afternoon was sunny and blue skies. Not suggesting it will be like that today .... just a simple observation. |

thats the thing OTB hit the nail on the head , when you have an ODI match and there is a 'window' of play possible in the middle of bad weather either side ,the team batting first will play the allocated overs for their innings as if the window of play was right until the cut off time , therefore if theres rain coming during the chase then the game is much more likely to finish a NR , you could play 69 overs and still have a NR , the other day we had played 65 overs in the Australia NZ clash and still had a NR ...

I agree with OTB..so have taken a bit of NR now.. and once the game starts and the price shoots I ll take a bit then I dont expect a result today. I expect a full first innings and then rain.
