dont think long term - money on the draw will be worth too much matt
Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:24 PM GMT
Parity and SA 200-3 at stumps tomorrow might see draw lower
Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:25 PM GMT
Cant see it though

SA top order dont look upto it smith and kallis aside
Report Richard LL January 4, 2010 2:25 PM GMT
not much might about that :)
Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:25 PM GMT
True :)
Report johnterry 26 January 4, 2010 2:26 PM GMT
England would be a huge price to win in that scenario, more mileage laying them than backing draw if that's what you're hoping for lol
Report Green Beard January 4, 2010 2:26 PM GMT
smith doesnt look in great nick to be fair, could have gone for 1 in first innings and struggled for me all tour
Report ODI Matt January 4, 2010 2:26 PM GMT
muchos gracias for the opinions, laying it at 8 now :(
Report Green Beard January 4, 2010 2:27 PM GMT

Report oitoitoi January 4, 2010 2:32 PM GMT
right screwed this test up, small red accross the board, time to start again, thinking a small sell of SA might be worth while with these 2 looking pretty good.

Report Fallen Angel January 4, 2010 2:38 PM GMT
Not sure what to make of this game. Backed SA early on and am now sitting on a decent looking book, laid SA at odds on. However wouldnt be at all suprised if England ended up with a first innings lead, tail has contributed well in general. Stats were against the draw and I am short on that at the moment.

Fairly balanced in my opinion although I definately favour a result.
Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:38 PM GMT
Strange. Thought he would have been on here at some point since xmas

regarding dilshan, in 23 games as an opener in odis he averages 59.05 with a ridiculous 5 hundreds. Don't know sr but would imagine it's well over 100.

Even if England grab say another 35 runs with the last 3 wickets they are right back in this

I know their batting last but fancy they could still give themselves a chance of chasing not much over 225

Smith v Young

Smith had three darts at double 18 cost me around the world trip
Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:52 PM GMT
He played darin young in 1st round

young went 2 up, pieman came back to 2-2, at that point young looked gone and tbf had played sh1t all game, smith then had darts at d18 for the match missed and somehow lost the match 3-2

The darts was brillant this year. Really enjoyed it when I filed my loss away.
Report bohemond January 4, 2010 2:56 PM GMT
an analysis of my darts performance reveals i am very very strong on longer format matches - shorter first round type matches are more dangerous due to the dramatic and often final momentum changes
Report bohemond January 4, 2010 2:57 PM GMT
agreed jf - got similarly found out by the tabern/dudbridge match - but very very solid after that ** slap around my face
Report Super Vixen January 4, 2010 2:57 PM GMT

Report STEPTOES YARD January 4, 2010 2:58 PM GMT
Not a huge one for darts betting but did get involved in the 180s markets

Found laying total 180s went ok if you could pinpoint games inrunning that may not have many legs left in them in terms of pne player getting well on top.

Not one for betting big on individual matches. Swings in odds just freak me out
Report Lix January 4, 2010 2:58 PM GMT
surely none of you supertraders back very short prices on the darts? :0

it was horrendous, i was all over tabern cos didn't believe flash could double, then he kept hitting, so i switched, then he fooked it then switched again :( soo nearly layed him at 1.04 tho, think he went to 1.7 at least before winning iirc

So the spreads give England 310, think they'd be a bit shorther than 2.9 if they got that imo.

When do they go favourites - lead of about 40?
Report fundamentalist January 4, 2010 7:07 PM GMT
AM

been a discrepancy between england runs spread and the match odds mkt all day. At one point the spreads had Eng giving up a 20 run lead yet it was 1.5/3.8.

Id guess the match odds are factoring in its tough to bat last at Cape Town, tho may be overdoi it imo
Report Asparagus Man January 4, 2010 7:17 PM GMT
Cheers Fundy - be interesting to see how the market moves if/when England get ahead.

Even a lead of 30/40 is going to shift the pressure back to the Saffers batting which hasn't generally looked confident in recent weeks.
Report fundamentalist January 4, 2010 7:18 PM GMT
could see a hugely volatile mkt if england reach parity in the morning, especially as against the new ball if theyre not bowled out cheaply runs will come quickly
