Ah yes. Remember it now. Think Caddy got a few first innings wickets before Thorpe made a big ton.

Good memory (I reckon 108 counts as a big ton for Thorpe - seem to remember him getting out immediately after 100 plenty of times!):

Seems I was a bit harsh on Thorpey - now I look I do remember that his top score was a surprisingly low 138 for ages which is probably why I thought that:

Incidentally, knowing what we know now, it's astonishing to think that Vettori was batting at 11 in his debut test there :0

5** over two innings gives the game away, doesn't it? :p Mark Richardson started his career as an #11 too, must be something about Kiwis and their capacity for self-improvement

We had a lot of bad weather that game. Whilst we won easily on the scoreboard the weather nearly saved NZ. Credit went to Bucknor for playing on through the drizzle and poor light whilst we had the spinners on. Also Lee Germon's last game as skipper?
