Was discussing with a friend yesterday day who said they're still in place although relaxed. I remember a news article many months back that they had done away with them for all sports?

My understanding is that the quota applies at domestic level, but is disapplied when picking the national side. Not 100% sure of this though.

whether or not you agree with them. There are now a number of black and cape coloureds (who just don't look black to me) who are top players in all sports and genuinely deserving of their place.

Brian Habana, Ntini, Duminy, Ashwell Prince and Herschelle Gibbs.

The jury however is out on Caster Semenya

if Ntini plays in the 3rd Test we'll know quotas still exist.

Who knows -although they do say 'once you go black, you never go back' so maybe thats why Bell is so loved by the selectors.

such quotas and affirmative action are very scary (in)justices to me...

Boycott and someone else were discussing it on 5 live yesterday. The other fella (who I can't remember his name) said the quoto exists but it only a minimum of 1 person in the squad. So they can have a full white XI if they wish.
