We havent got a thread for this yet have we?

these are the test series in 2009

WI-ENG
SA-AUS
PAK-SL
NZ-India
ENG-WI
SL-PAK
ENG-AUS
SL-NZ
INDIA-SL
NZ-PAK
SA-ENG
AUS-PAK
AUS-WI

Dilshan a must for both sides imo
Jimmy Anderson probably gets a bowling slot in the test side

without wanting to sound too pro-Eng, I cant see past Strauss and Swann too.

Thoughts please...

Not sure who Strauss gets in ahead off in ?(I presume) the test side?

Sewage a certainty....
Gayle has been fantastic
Smith never lets you down
Watson is a c0ck but has been very, very good
Gambhir is about the best player in the world currently imo
Report Lix December 27, 2009 12:05 AM GMT
gayle's only been good vs Aus imo. Sehwag didnt do a great deal (test wise) early this year either.
Report Birchola December 27, 2009 12:07 AM GMT
Gambhir had an excelllent knock t'other day but saying he's the best player in the world is a tad short sighted. He's had a pretty average year by his standards.

Gambhir and Sehwag are averaging 91 and 70 respectively this year.

I would take that on a bad year!
Report Lix December 27, 2009 12:11 AM GMT
sehwag's ave probably boosted a teensy bit by that 300 knock :)

still think strauss has done more over the year.

Some interesting stats

http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;orderby=batting_average;spanmax1=27+Dec+2009;spanmin1=27+Dec+2008;spanval1=span;template=results;type=batting

Vettori averaging 60 with the bad is a fine effort

What was the match that Fat Jesse dominated early in the year?
Report dougydougy. December 27, 2009 5:47 AM GMT
strauss and gambhir for me

love sehwag but those two been better this year

smith not played enough

watson is garbage shouldn't be in the aus side

Strauss been good, but just no way ahead of Sewag or Gambir..
Swann has done very well.. Vetorri though has been hampered by bowling in very unfriendly spinning conditions.
Anderson probably gets in.. says more about the general inconsistancy of fast bowlers at the moment though... epitomized by johnson and anderson.

mittheimp in anti-England post.

HTEHB?

wasnt an anti england post
Report Max and Paddy December 27, 2009 7:26 AM GMT
Yes it was.

Strauss isn't as good as Sehwag or Gambhir.
Swann's been lucky to have better conditions than Vettori.
Anderson only gets in cos he's not as bad as his rivals.
