Fingers crossed this really is the new dawn for Windies cricket and the Collapso doesnt rear its ugly head once more.
If it doesn't, the draw looks value to me.

Report Sadeyedladyofthelowlands December 18, 2009 6:51 AM GMT
I'm quite a fan of the appeals system except in cases like that where Watson was just chancing his arm. Maybe he should have to give a reason for the appeal - Inside edge / Hit outside the line / Not hitting the stumps etc. 3rd ump would just check that one thing.
Report Lix December 18, 2009 6:53 AM GMT

This is going to set up a VERY VERY scared market......

You watch if the windies are 0/40.... Windies will come in to 3's...

BUT they will lose... they'll fail to make 250.
Report West Coast Eagles December 18, 2009 8:55 AM GMT

windies got no hope...like i said, they'll make 250 at best... and I wouldn't be suprised if they get rolled for 150.

BUT , money to be made by laying the windies
Report West Coast Eagles December 18, 2009 8:57 AM GMT
record was set last year at the WACA, 414 chased down by South Africa

that was also the 2nd highest chase ever in terms of 4th innings chases

oK so i was wrong about it being down to a draw or windies win :( .. but as long as windies pull it off i won't be too dissapointed ;)

Well done to whoever got 90s on windies..i stopped topping up at 22.0 :( .. but even that is lookng massive now .. and will look even more massive if windies can get to 200-4 tomorrow ;)

Looking forward to a great finish to this test :D

from memory last year south africa was around 13's at the start of the chase last year, I got on at 8.00's i have a feeling Windies are primed for this chase, and have a good chance of knocking these runs off

Report T20man December 18, 2009 9:34 AM GMT
This is one hell of a fast deteriorating pitch. We can all forget about 414 chases. This is different pitch and different opposition. Windies will be lucky to make 200 tomorrow (my guess is 150 or less).
Report Jan1ne December 18, 2009 9:41 AM GMT

I think South Africa in their second innings successfully chased 414 to win at the WACA losing only 4 wickets last year , so its possible

Report richieboy44 December 18, 2009 12:52 PM GMT
but unlikely ....

Windies won't get near this on this wicket. the ball is moving all over the place.

windies wil be 33's by lunch.
Report Birchola December 18, 2009 7:15 PM GMT
Will be interesting to watch the market twitch and panic if Gayle gets off to a start like he did in the 1st innings.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 18, 2009 7:35 PM GMT
Interesting one that birch

Gayle played a long and guarded innings in the 2nd test making 165

With 2 days left chasing 375 say he may well adopt a more conservative approach and try to bat through the chase
Report Birchola December 18, 2009 8:18 PM GMT
Yeah of course he will. For some reason I thought the lead was only 250 :|

Windies wont get close to 350+ will they?
Report Richard LL December 18, 2009 8:25 PM GMT
wouldn't have thought so, would be a hell of a run chase, I'd want a lot more than 6.0.
Report West Coast Eagles December 18, 2009 8:41 PM GMT
if West Indies can keep Aussies under 400, I can see them chasing this down here, will head down to the match today, looking forward to a really good finish
