Commies said there hasn't been a draw for the last 17 tests held in SA.
When was the last non-weather draw at his particular ground?
Report chelsea_blue December 17, 2009 1:15 PM GMT
anyone laying the draw at 1.6, seems a good bet to me, no bad weather around, SA only made 420ish, loads of cricket left

i can see a result in this one

Well considering that over £1 million has been matched at 2.22 or higher, I would say yes!!

any weather experts out there ?
Report TwoTonTed December 17, 2009 8:09 PM GMT
snowing in TW11 smeagors.

Mrs Ted has gone to see a nativity play in Kent, she may not be back for a few days imo :0 :D

Glass of red anyone?
Report ReaseHeath December 17, 2009 8:17 PM GMT
Looked at the stats before the match started - there've only been two draws in 14 tests at Centurion and both were weather affected (both v England coincidentally).

I layed the draw but beginning to think I've done my money because I did n't allow for how weak both bowling attacks are.
Report smeagors December 17, 2009 9:06 PM GMT
ted .. how bout centurion ? .. whats your tipple c'est soir ?
Report TwoTonTed December 17, 2009 9:19 PM GMT
hard to say smeagors, need to keep a close eye on the radar come Sat/Sun - hit or miss at the mo imo.

I hate backing the draw but have to say taking into account:

- ease SA tail enders fended of England.
- SA's sloth pace of scoring (very important factor cos anyone that analyses test cricket knows RR is crucial in securing a result over 5 days).
- fact Cook scored freely for a bit (he never does at chelmsford)
- Strauss and Trott manoeuvring very easily.

I have to back it now thinking there will be a very low lay at some point.
Report sibaroni December 17, 2009 9:42 PM GMT
Does it look like Swann will take wickets on a fifth day? Not seen the pictures myself.
Report Bernie Larkham December 17, 2009 10:20 PM GMT
SIB - he took 5 over the first 2 days so every chance him taking another bag. Got some turn and should get more as it goes on...
Report sibaroni December 17, 2009 10:28 PM GMT
Thats what I thought. Reckon a lay might be worth it, against the trend on this thread.
Report tai671 December 17, 2009 11:09 PM GMT
Clearly most likely result of the three, but price looks too short if we were assured of three full days of play. The storms forecast for the weekend throw a bit of a spanner in the works. Most sites say the chance of precipitation on Saturday is around 90%. I suppose it depends how likely you think a batting collapse or two is.
Report Srichaphan or Ancic? December 18, 2009 5:46 AM GMT
Laying the draw is always sensible before the play begins each day. Early wicket, draw odds up.
Report Srichaphan or Ancic? December 18, 2009 11:44 AM GMT
