Commies said there hasn't been a draw for the last 17 tests held in SA.
When was the last non-weather draw at his particular ground? |
By:
anyone laying the draw at 1.6, seems a good bet to me, no bad weather around, SA only made 420ish, loads of cricket left
i can see a result in this one |
By:
There is bad weather forecast for the weekend I think?
|
By:
ye, just checked seems like theres a chance of rain tommorow and possible storms on sat
|
By:
sorry, good weather tommorow and possible rain/storms sat and sun

snowing in TW11 smeagors.
Mrs Ted has gone to see a nativity play in Kent, she may not be back for a few days imo :0 :D Glass of red anyone? |
By:
Looked at the stats before the match started - there've only been two draws in 14 tests at Centurion and both were weather affected (both v England coincidentally).
I layed the draw but beginning to think I've done my money because I did n't allow for how weak both bowling attacks are. |
By:
ted .. how bout centurion ? .. whats your tipple c'est soir ?
|
By:
hard to say smeagors, need to keep a close eye on the radar come Sat/Sun - hit or miss at the mo imo.

some Saf rubbish :|

I hate backing the draw but have to say taking into account:
- ease SA tail enders fended of England. - SA's sloth pace of scoring (very important factor cos anyone that analyses test cricket knows RR is crucial in securing a result over 5 days). - fact Cook scored freely for a bit (he never does at chelmsford) - Strauss and Trott manoeuvring very easily. I have to back it now thinking there will be a very low lay at some point. |
By:
Does it look like Swann will take wickets on a fifth day? Not seen the pictures myself.
|
By:
SIB - he took 5 over the first 2 days so every chance him taking another bag. Got some turn and should get more as it goes on...
|
By:
Thats what I thought. Reckon a lay might be worth it, against the trend on this thread.
|
By:
Clearly most likely result of the three, but price looks too short if we were assured of three full days of play. The storms forecast for the weekend throw a bit of a spanner in the works. Most sites say the chance of precipitation on Saturday is around 90%. I suppose it depends how likely you think a batting collapse or two is.

Laying the draw is always sensible before the play begins each day. Early wicket, draw odds up.
