Report Innocent Bystander December 17, 2009 2:38 PM GMT
market now shortening England at the expense of SA whilst holding the draw
Report brentford December 17, 2009 2:39 PM GMT

Report Green Beard December 17, 2009 2:46 PM GMT
:D JF, eating chicken kievs and had to dive over to my laptop

thought it was stone dead . . . as it normally is if batsman walks across his stumps and ends up yorked and lying down. . . .

inside edge jt
Report brentford December 17, 2009 2:47 PM GMT
that surface looking very dry already
Report Innocent Bystander December 17, 2009 2:47 PM GMT
Close of Play draw train getting ready - but the market doesnt want to spaff its load too early in case of late dramas
Report johnterry 26 December 17, 2009 2:48 PM GMT
the hawkeye caption doesn't know it's an inside edge else the decision is not-out and not 'umpire's call'
Report Innocent Bystander December 17, 2009 2:48 PM GMT

Chicken Kiev not the fast finger operators meal of choice then? ;)
Report STEPTOES YARD December 17, 2009 2:48 PM GMT

Its a joke that someone can play in a country domestic game for few seasons and suddenly play for that country

What next Drogba for England
Report Test Match Matt December 17, 2009 2:51 PM GMT
HAHA :D the guy at mid wicket just did the worst run i've ever seen - looked like peter kay
Report Johnny Fontaine December 17, 2009 2:52 PM GMT
Thought Trott had an English mother ?
Report Green Beard December 17, 2009 2:52 PM GMT
9 mins until i offically declare draw free money

getting through 2 hours at the end and not losing a wicket, suggests england will be batting in first inning on day 4

someones going to have to be bowled out in a day, and personally dont think eithe rbowling attacks can
Report Lix December 17, 2009 2:52 PM GMT
I'd happily have Drogba in the England team.
Report johnterry 26 December 17, 2009 2:53 PM GMT

I wouldn't lix, I absolutely hate the guy with a passion... (rant about to begin...)

He's like 6'3 ffs, someone breathes on him and he goes down like he's been shot, absolute c0ck of the highest order imho (yes i support utd)
Report Test Match Matt December 17, 2009 2:54 PM GMT

KP's mother is English. Trott has a Scottish grandmother, and qualifies through that, I believe.

SY, Deco was bron in Brazil and plays for Portugal.

In 2002, having completed six years of Portuguese residence, he received Portuguese citizenship. After many months of public discussion which split Portuguese public opinion, and despite the opposition of a large number of Porto rivals' supporters, he was called up for his first international
Report Steady living December 17, 2009 2:56 PM GMT
do we think the draw price will get smaller over night? or creep back up?
Report Lix December 17, 2009 2:56 PM GMT
Depends on the forecast.
Report Green Beard December 17, 2009 2:56 PM GMT

Report STEPTOES YARD December 17, 2009 2:57 PM GMT
Dont agree with that either chanda.

Just think unless you have lived in England from early age or were brought through english cricket system from say age 10 you shouldnt be playing for England

SY.what annoys me about Trott is that he represented South Africa at under 15 and under 19 level. It will be interesting to see what happens with Chris Jordan of Surrey, the West Indies want him to play for them but England don't want him to play for the West Indies. At the moment Jordan is staying wth England cos hes in there plans and getting a good wedge @ Surrey.
Report worcester sauce December 17, 2009 3:01 PM GMT
forcasts according to johanasburginfo.com/weather
friday-sunny chance of showers later
saturday-heavy rain possible thunderstoms
sunday-rain chance of thunderstorms
make your on minds up if draw price is to big
Report Johnny Fontaine December 17, 2009 3:01 PM GMT
In the old days the price would already be there and you would get a free lay with a chance of a wicket

Report Test Match Matt December 17, 2009 3:04 PM GMT

Report Green Beard December 17, 2009 3:05 PM GMT
I can offically declare this a draw

england will bat into day 4 and with or without thunderstorms this is going nowhere, forget easy decs for saffers, they dont do them, and forget collapses with kallis in the form he is

this is just a draw, ive said it for days now, and many people have hopefully followed, but it is mainly at this stage that 1.5 offers insane value

Offically aproved by Green Beard Investments

*warning : odds may go down as well as up
Report Green Beard December 17, 2009 3:06 PM GMT
so many lightwieghts nowadays

up at 1:30am, for thursday night football, combined with the aus test and more windies resistence, and then at 8 am switch over to this test, and also the ODI
Report SwindonBoy December 17, 2009 3:15 PM GMT
nice been out all day, 2.38sa lays looks decent
Report Lix December 17, 2009 3:16 PM GMT
Dunno about flee munny for the draw here GB. Needs some rain for this to be a draw imo.

This pitch is gonna fall apart i feel.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 17, 2009 3:20 PM GMT
Draw could well be 1.3 or below before any signs of breaking up
Report peter64 December 17, 2009 3:32 PM GMT
should be good for batting tomorrow lose 2 sessions to the weather looks all over a draw then
Report STEPTOES YARD December 17, 2009 3:32 PM GMT
the draw could be 1.3 by midnight at this rate :0
Report peter64 December 17, 2009 3:34 PM GMT
if englamd reach sa total cant really see how sa can win
Report Lady Margaret December 17, 2009 3:35 PM GMT
If England score at 4 an over tomorrow losing a regular wickets on the way - which is fairly plausible - to end on 440 all out at close.

What price the draw then?
Report Test Match Matt December 17, 2009 3:37 PM GMT
if the weather forecasts stay as they are now then draw would be 1.25 imo
Report Johnny Fontaine December 17, 2009 3:38 PM GMT
Can't see them scoring at 4 over. SA will employ negative tactics bowling outside off stump. England should bat Saffers out of the game tomorrow and hopefully get a decent lead with a chance of bowling them out final day
Report Johnny Fontaine December 17, 2009 3:40 PM GMT
Yeah , I forgot about the weather although storms could arrive late in the day
Report STEPTOES YARD December 17, 2009 3:41 PM GMT
3 interesting days cricket to come

Think draw could go sub 1.3 tomorrow.

However whatever happens tomorrow I dont think a draw is by any means a cert.

Last 2 days if pretty weather fine could still be very interesting if nature of pitch alters
Report Johnny Fontaine December 17, 2009 3:45 PM GMT
Saffers need to bowl them out tomorrow with a lead. If England are batting day 4 can't see Saffers winning.
Report peter64 December 17, 2009 3:52 PM GMT
i agree with you jf should be good for batting tomorrow not the best sa attack if england are level at the end of day 3 sa need to bar for 3.5 sessions min before declaring and with weather issues as well i can see england having more chance of winning but any substantial loss of time would make a draw a cert
Report BigMig December 17, 2009 4:13 PM GMT
