Gayle's first Test hundred against Australia gave West Indies a 296-run lead with a day to play and on a turning pitch Australia will have their work cut out against the spin and bounce of Sulieman Benn.

In the past century, no team has made more than 239 in the fourth innings to win an Adelaide Test and if Gayle doesn't declare overnight, Australia might need to beat the all-time record of 315.

ill copy and post this in a few hours, but

following idia v SL, yes we are all very much excited about a possible result test match, but 1.7 for BOTH "no 12 wickets on final day" and "no over 300 scored in 85 overs max"

1.7 is just insane, lets not get carried away with the results here, the draw is massive, and as much as a result would result in a great test match either way, the way aus have played, and the way windies have played (gayle seething at sammy playing a drive, and benn playing a pull shot" they are keen to draw this

getting heavy on the draw here, because either team can quite easily tighten ship for the draw as soon as a result the other way is approaching

DRAW FOR ME, MAX BET AT 1.72

Report karaokechamp1 December 8, 2009 6:48 AM GMT
you are a twit w.sauce....

obviously you lost on AUS... suck eggs. Watson a disgrace? 96 and 47 and 3 wickets? Hardley a disgrace. Windies played better, won the toss, batted well, and we were a bowler down with Siddle' injury.
Report West Coast Eagles December 8, 2009 9:44 AM GMT
i must admit I switched all my green to Aus. Its a learning lesson for me. Teams chasing 4+ an over final day, unless there is a trophy on the line, or team has incentive to win, dont back them. Clearly this Aussie team is not the same aura or believe they can beat teams as easily as they did in the 90's and early 00's.

I actually thought Aussies were a realistic chance of winning yesterday, bloody Baghdad Tim Nielsen and Brad Haddin coming out and saying they would assess things and look to go for the win. I heard that direct from the coach in an interview last night. Clearly Tim Nielsen put his bank balance on the Draw.
Report Captain Wurzel December 8, 2009 11:11 AM GMT
Aussies had very little chance of chasing down the total. Benn was extremely difficult to score off.
Report Ernesto December 8, 2009 11:16 AM GMT

Report The Welsh One December 8, 2009 11:34 AM GMT

Report Green Beard December 8, 2009 3:53 PM GMT
west coast, in my experience the coach will never come out and say, "yeah well fight hard for a draw tomoro, its going to be tough but well try and grind one out" unless they are over 600 runs behind kind of thing

its just a bit of PR and make sure they get tickets sold the next dy
Report Deadly Earnest December 8, 2009 4:07 PM GMT
To be fair to the Australians WCE, the first 3 wickets all fell to boundary attempts and all were only wanting for a bit of luck. Especially after Watson fell, leaving only 3-4 strong partnerships and 40+ overs remaining it was a highly unlikely equation and the WI fields and bowling lines were also tending to the defensive.

Australia needed to be no worse than 2-140 after 41 overs leaving 190 to get from 40 overs with 2 set batsmen and 8 wickets in hand, and even from there it would be very tough though you would have to have a crack with little to lose given the 8 wickets in hand.

I was pretty impressed with WI here and Australia's performance did lack inspiration, but even after losing the toss and getting an injury to Siddle the Aussies finished the match basically on level terms so it wasn't that poor a performance from them.

I think had Gayle had the services of one more hostile bowler here, say a Fidel Edwards, the WI would have given victory an almightly shake. Roach again very impressive but i wonder if the first innings just took the edge of Benn and Roach a little.

you are right wasnt watson who was a disgrace
was the whole oz team.
do you really think they gave the chase ago?
haddin comes out and tells the whole world
that they wil chase down any score anything windies set.
why didnt they change the batting order bring
johnson in before hussey or at the very least
north.if it had failed hussey and north steady the ship.
at least could not be accused then of giving it a go.
as for my betting positions was all green
although do admit oz did win me 3 times more.
oz 600
windies 450
draw 221

Report Lix December 8, 2009 4:41 PM GMT
plenty of positives for the Windies here. Their catching was superb throughout. we all know that Bravo is a demon fielder but Barath and even Sarwan took some excellent chances that Windies sides of a few years ago would've put down.

Benn's control is excellent. batsmen got out to him 1st innings when they tried to attack him, they made sure they didnt make the same mistake 2nd time round.

Gayle's mature inns, rampaul's batting.... lots of good things here. With Fiddy and Taylor back they look a quite good side. who do they play next...?
Report Cuddy December 8, 2009 5:22 PM GMT
