Hello CG :)
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 3:36 AM GMT
Yep good riddance to your thread matt ;) :)

1.39 before the wicket , mate
Report Complete God December 5, 2009 3:39 AM GMT
I've never understood why people give a flying f_ck who starts the threads it's of no relevance to life whatsoever. They went 4/9 by the way, I've just laid a bit of 1.17 for what it's worth. These 2 and next 2 are what it's all about
Report Lix December 5, 2009 3:41 AM GMT
cheers jacob.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 3:41 AM GMT
Suppose getting upset about it could be described as even less important in life
Report Test Match Matt December 5, 2009 3:52 AM GMT
Baj bowling really well here
Report Cuddy December 5, 2009 3:53 AM GMT
i preferred matt's one, step.
liked the semi-colon.
Report TopTier December 5, 2009 4:16 AM GMT
Starting to believe SL might make a decent effort in saving this test especially at plus 5 atm. Any opinions?
Report mvuemba December 5, 2009 4:20 AM GMT
The run rate is a concern.
Lanka will probably have to bat till tea tomorrow, maybe even longer.
Report TopTier December 5, 2009 5:04 AM GMT
A decent 1st session from SL. Is there a hint of huff and puff? ;-)
Report mvuemba December 5, 2009 5:06 AM GMT
Yeah i was on India but hedged with the draw.
Same price than last night, 4 down at stumps would be alright.
Report TopTier December 5, 2009 5:42 AM GMT
SL not scoring runs quickly but quiet happy with their concentrated no risk approach. On this wicket nudging along is surely the best way to get the draw secured. Long may it continue. :-)
Report in hell December 5, 2009 6:28 AM GMT
agree with that . runs also coming a bit easier now
Report in hell December 5, 2009 6:30 AM GMT
didnt want that
Report michael knight December 5, 2009 6:30 AM GMT
and out - great ball there.
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 6:32 AM GMT
Even Nigel Llong couldn't get that one wrong.
Report TopTier December 5, 2009 6:35 AM GMT
one wicket and the draw backers run for the hills. The price before or now is wrong.
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 6:43 AM GMT
It'a a tough one. I get the feeling that another wicket before tea and India could well blow Sri Lanka's house down.
Report Johnny`Honk`Fartpants December 5, 2009 6:44 AM GMT
They having a break now?
Report in hell December 5, 2009 6:46 AM GMT
having just watched that dilshann LBW . does nigel Llong not like dilshann , thats 2 shockers he has given in this match
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 6:56 AM GMT
The first one was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. Made it even worse because he had played so well too.
Report TopTier December 5, 2009 7:01 AM GMT
looking pretty comfortable atm
Report in hell December 5, 2009 7:05 AM GMT
1st one was harper tbf ...still a shocker though
Report in hell December 5, 2009 7:11 AM GMT
out .....jaya kept nibbling at them
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 7:14 AM GMT
Hard to see them surviving now, don't really fancy the rest of the batting after these two.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:17 AM GMT
Some decent money in this market this morning
Report brentford December 5, 2009 7:22 AM GMT
super traders SY ? ;\
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:25 AM GMT
Oh not that big brent ;)

Dozed off at Tea in Aussie game and just woke up :(
Report brentford December 5, 2009 7:30 AM GMT
you didn't miss much - everyone and their dogs puppies predicted the Windies toiling for wickets on that deck/ with that attack... :|

Benn actually caused Watson a few problems, beyond that it's been as predictable as misery in an East Enders script.
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 7:30 AM GMT
Fat lady clearing her throat now.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:34 AM GMT
Was an excellent catch
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 7:38 AM GMT
Morning boys. Did India go to 1.70 with SL one down ?
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:40 AM GMT
Yep. Can see runs coming at very quick rate for oz tomorrow and West Indies being in a tricky position come around lunch time on day4 trailing by 200.
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 7:42 AM GMT
Out. This is done.

Step how big did Oz get after lunch ?
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:43 AM GMT
Around 2.3ish jf
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:43 AM GMT
Rampaul was whacking it to all parts :0
Report Johnny`Honk`Fartpants December 5, 2009 7:44 AM GMT
Is it tea yet?
Report brentford December 5, 2009 7:44 AM GMT
2.16-2.20 ish JF I think and graph backs it - was a bit of a 10th wicket stand
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:45 AM GMT
Yep Tea mate
Report Johnny`Honk`Fartpants December 5, 2009 7:45 AM GMT
Ta mate.
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 7:45 AM GMT
So Windies will have to bat 4+ sessions for the draw ?
Report Monty's Wonderbra December 5, 2009 7:47 AM GMT
a pleasing start to the day seeing those wickets drop :)
Report brentford December 5, 2009 7:49 AM GMT
4 might do it but they look odds on to be following the script of a 'can the windies bat to save the game' ?
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 7:50 AM GMT
Thats my view jf.

Said last night that this Test in oz reminds me of Cardiff where side batting first get what looks a decent enough score until oz bat and make it look an average effort.

Can see

oz getting to 650 by lunch on day4 - thats about 475 in next 4 sessions.

WI 200+ behind will need to bat deep into final day to save game
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 7:52 AM GMT
Think they'll be shorter than 1.60 myself then. Althoough we have about 15-20 tickst to drop before they bat
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 9:02 AM GMT
6 down
Report richieboy44 December 5, 2009 9:03 AM GMT
woke up this morning and Indian victory lookin' good ;)
Report richieboy44 December 5, 2009 9:06 AM GMT
when I have a bet on these subcontinent matches I sometimes get the feeling that I have to manage my position and monitor the game ...ie 4 AM wake ups , but this match I've slept like a baby ...
Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:08 AM GMT
sometimes i think thats the best way mate sleep and trust your instinct, when watching too closely and you see your liability you can get twitchy. By not watching you let the result ride out that if you had no money on you would be certain would happen. Sounds like you are backing the right team then, good work
Report richieboy44 December 5, 2009 9:08 AM GMT
had a right result yesterday ... one bookie was still laying prices on Top series runscorer/wicket taker in the SA /England ODI series ...hit 'em hard knowing there was great chance the 5th ODI would be NO result and all the leaders going into the last game would be declared the winners LOL :^0
Report Sterling Morrison December 5, 2009 9:08 AM GMT
What... wake up every 30 mins crying?
Report richieboy44 December 5, 2009 9:09 AM GMT
er , no , Sterling
Report brentford December 5, 2009 9:10 AM GMT
rough ride for any SL backers that 'slept in' on day 2
Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:10 AM GMT
Lol brentford
Report Birchola December 5, 2009 9:12 AM GMT
Agree entirely BETSAFE.....ISH. It's easy to mess up a position in a test match by knee jerking throughout the course of the day. Sleeping through it allows you to be more rational and base your position over the long term course of the match.
Report brentford December 5, 2009 9:14 AM GMT
or wake up and find 13/10 is now 80's .... :)
Report richieboy44 December 5, 2009 9:14 AM GMT
Brentford :^0
Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:18 AM GMT
Its each to there own, of course by staying tucked up in bed you maty miss a golden oppotunity with the odds, i myself am as birchola suggests i little twitchy and can start messing around with my profit and watch it dwindle. So if the team i backed are in a strong position i like to catch the zzzzzzzz and let the match position speak for itsself, plus i get less grief from the misses for waking her up at 4!!!! (To watch the cricket by the way!)
Report brentford December 5, 2009 9:21 AM GMT
you rightly say - all about styles and as long as stakes are in proportion to what you are happy to wake up to in the worst case scenario - not a problem long term...

not sure I could do it these days, force of habit maybe.
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 9:23 AM GMT
You have to see the game. SL backers / Indian layers at close day 1 didn't see the final session IMO.
Score was well under par for me.
Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:23 AM GMT
good point, if i had a large sum on it i reckon i would be up in the early hours keeping tabs on it
Report Birchola December 5, 2009 9:24 AM GMT
Of course you have to use discretion. If for example the Kiwi's need 400 to win with 5 wickets and 3 sessions remaining you're pretty safe letting it run whilst opposing NZ instead of getting nervous around lunch time when there's a 50 partnership and wasting profit.
Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:27 AM GMT
Thats it, i remember a test match in New Zealand, i was not betting as it was in my youth but i stayed up to watch us get them 8 or 9 down then it was lunch, went to bed quite happy that a test win was secured only to wake the next day to see the walking wicket Mr Morrison hung around with Astle i think for 2 sessions. I could not believe it and would have been sick if i left money on it
Report SwindonBoy December 5, 2009 9:27 AM GMT

Report BETSAFE.....ISH December 5, 2009 9:41 AM GMT
fortunately i got to watch as the wickets tumbled then went to bed, i bet it was very painful viewing. 4 hours bowling to number 11 and couldnt get him out, bet the batsmen had a few words for the bowlers in the dressing room ha

Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 9:57 AM GMT

Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 9:58 AM GMT

Report Channers December 5, 2009 10:02 AM GMT
Why are people backing Sri Lanka, what is the scenario in which they win? (have I missed something)
Report Sterling Morrison December 5, 2009 10:03 AM GMT
Get a lead, bowl India out, but more likely just move the price a bit
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 10:03 AM GMT
150 lead bowl them out in 1 and bit sessions
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 10:05 AM GMT
India playing for the draw ?:|
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 10:08 AM GMT
Sri lanka would need to bat till not far short of Tea to get out of this
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 10:10 AM GMT
Just trade Step. Will set up a back bet at 1.30
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 10:11 AM GMT
1.3 is probably wishful thinking. A sudden, completely unexpected downpour tomorrow would be interesting. :D
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 10:11 AM GMT
Snooker starts today, Step. Is that in your portflio of sports ?
Report Johnny Fontaine December 5, 2009 10:12 AM GMT
Perhaps 1.20 then. I'll have to think about it
Report tai671 December 5, 2009 10:14 AM GMT
The problem is the clowns still to bat. If M Jayawardena had got in, this could've been very interesting, but probably over before lunch tomorrow now.
Report STEPTOES YARD December 5, 2009 10:15 AM GMT
Not really jf.

Used to be few year back. Much tougher now as standard of players much more even imo.

That said, best of 17 from round1 in ukchamps does help out top players.

Always used to enjoy laying Steve Davis when on a 15 break :D
