No, like watching cricket in a dungeon through a window an inch wide.
Report RockMonkey December 4, 2009 8:26 AM GMT
That was my concern
Report good value losers December 4, 2009 9:17 AM GMT
i watched greenidge get his double ton from in there. never been so cold in my life, but couldn't leave.
Report RockMonkey December 4, 2009 9:19 AM GMT
Bet you weren't any colder than I was watching him get his next double ton at Old Trafford!

Reason for query anyhow is that they are offering PAK-AUS test tickets for the unheard of (in England anyhow) price of £25/30 so was curious as to what levels of discomfort would have to be endured to take advantage,

The discomfort of loads of 'musical' instruments and similar noise pollution from Pakistani supporters i would think
Report smeagors December 4, 2009 9:47 AM GMT
as ted said ..

Having satisified myself of the comfort level & viewing quality of the seat that would be the next concern. Surely the MCC chaps don't allow any of that nonsense tho?
Report plainmoor layer December 4, 2009 9:50 AM GMT
Think it would be considered racist if they confiscated their instrumensts
Report RockMonkey December 4, 2009 9:55 AM GMT
An Anglo-Saxon trumpet was impounded, along with much whingeing as I recall, last summer

was out with some old chums last night and have ** Officially ** got my proposer for MCC 'associate' I think they call it, membership :)

This entitles one to be egg and baconed up and sit in the hallowed area (stroll the Long Romm etc) subject to available capacity, as only full members have absolute right and that takes about another 10 years once you're in. Right, I now need someone to second me (plus a 3rder, 4ther to oil the wheels preferably) so I can get onto the waiting list.

Replies here please ....................................................... :)
Report GrimReaper December 4, 2009 11:53 AM GMT
Can't your proposer suggest a seconder?
Report Innocent Bystander December 4, 2009 12:06 PM GMT
Isnt the waiting list about 15 years?
Report TwoTonTed December 4, 2009 12:13 PM GMT
working on that Grim. the 10-15 year waiting list is only for full membership. They have about 15,000 members in total most of which are associates iiuic. My chum has already been given a full member date of 2021, depending of course on the mortality rates of incumbents :0

The chances of you getting seconded on the Betfair forum are about as slim as Sajid Mahmood becoming the best fast bowler of our generation. I doubt you have been proposed as you now need to be proposed by a committe member.

To become a full member takes about 13yrs, but you can become an associate within 6.
