Thought I'd get this up and running.
Interested to know any views on the advantage of batting 1st in a day/nighter at Newlands.
The stats suggest it's a big advantage but maybe those stats are skewed by South Africans dominance here.

Report Birchola November 27, 2009 6:21 PM GMT
Prior's one of our better batsmen.
Report Super Vixen November 27, 2009 6:21 PM GMT

Yes.

Report Live Forever November 27, 2009 6:24 PM GMT
Why would he want to bowl a leg side line to Collingwood?
Report Jan1ne November 27, 2009 6:24 PM GMT
prior has always been** poor in limited overs, HTH
Report STEPTOES YARD November 27, 2009 6:25 PM GMT
Prior just having tough time form wise.

Has improved alot with gloves and is still a capable batsman.

Certainly my choice for Test keeper

Report brentford November 27, 2009 6:28 PM GMT
never had the chance to play a proper role imo,
shuffled up and down, has shown as a test match player (batting) is of some quality so arguably neither the opener birth or lower order has been ideal placement though keepers not likely to be able to pick and choose.

I'd agree he's not done too much in odi's...but Bresnan, Swann, Broad - hardly
Report Birchola November 27, 2009 6:29 PM GMT
If one of our 4 Saffers had performed with the bat we'd have been in with a shout.
Report bohemond November 27, 2009 6:29 PM GMT
oh yes defo pick him as test keeper - but has done sweet fa in odi's for me - prior that is

Can just about accept that.

Cant accept people coming over in their 20s and looking for a pay day and any flag to tie themselves too for personal gain

good innings collywood
Report Innocent Bystander November 27, 2009 6:31 PM GMT
I see the wicket taking powerplays so wanted by the comms have ensured game over.

But they arent mentioning that :0
Report illiades. November 27, 2009 6:31 PM GMT
Morgan did ok when he kept wicket, messed up a stumping i recall.

Train him, if at all possible, to be a decent level wicketkeeper and England open up a position.
Report rolo2 November 27, 2009 6:31 PM GMT
SY its not just about pay. Its about the chance of playing international cricket too
Report brentford November 27, 2009 6:33 PM GMT
that's naive imo - Morgan struggled behind the stumps not unreasonably and would be far better continuing his batting development -
Report Birchola November 27, 2009 6:33 PM GMT
Who's everyone on in the test match tonight? Get O'Brien early and I'll be going all in with a lay on the draw.

It's not in Pakistan's make up to not go after 250ish in three sessions.
Report STEPTOES YARD November 27, 2009 6:33 PM GMT
True rolo.

Just doesnt sit very well with me.
Report Innocent Bystander November 27, 2009 6:34 PM GMT

Report Innocent Bystander November 27, 2009 6:34 PM GMT
are we still talking about the Saffer links? is there anything left to be said about that, or are we just the Nick Knight of the forum world, repeating the same carp time after time?
Report Birchola November 27, 2009 6:34 PM GMT
I'm still concerned about his rearguard action against the Lankans IB. Half hour or so of batting and the draw becomes far more likely.
Report Super Vixen November 27, 2009 6:35 PM GMT
If you could guarantee a full days play, laying the draw at 3.5 would be a no-brainer...

Maybe we need lippy or Lord Indra to give us an accurate forecast.

Report rolo2 November 27, 2009 6:36 PM GMT
i agree though, i wouldnt be happy if anybody with a long lost relative could play for SA, i suppose its the way its going though these days. a bit like the irb rugby rules - just live there for 36months, and you can play for the national side.

Report brentford November 27, 2009 6:37 PM GMT
are the IRB rules not intended to aid developing Rugby nations most of all ? (genuine question)
Report Super Vixen November 27, 2009 6:38 PM GMT
