What a generous chap. Usually a departing player is seeking severance payments rather than the other way round. The only similar gesture I can think of is when Emile Heskey contributed 100K to Leicester City out of his own pocket when they were in financial strife. A true rarity. |

Jokes aside, what a lovely gesture by the man. I doubt he is poor but given the relative short careers of sportsmen (and the fact he's not guaranteed to play international cricket again) 10k isnt exactly pocket change to the man. |
