more room in the SL price now!
Report Lix November 17, 2009 8:20 AM GMT
India bowling defensively but still píssing runs. :D

I'll have some more 3/1 SL .
Report STEPTOES YARD November 17, 2009 8:20 AM GMT
Yep ern. Thats my thoughts. Will there come a stage where Sri lankan price puts pressure on draw price.

Comments made are probably right though. Market will expect india to be able to coast to a draw.
Report Johnny Fontaine November 17, 2009 8:21 AM GMT
Cheers step. Draw can't fall too much now IMO. I was looking at 1.4x as an exit
Report dougydougy. November 17, 2009 8:23 AM GMT
the ?factor here is will he pitch play markedly worse on days 4/5, if yes draw is too short right now considering, stage of game/sl attacking intent

Yes Lix. Will not get shorter unless the pitch breaks up at a rapid rate

Not convinced shah.

Even if india get sri lanka all out for level scores its far more tricky to set up victory batting 3rd as they will have draw in mind first.

Report STEPTOES YARD November 17, 2009 9:52 AM GMT
Yep maybe ern.

Still some batting to come though and for me pitch still looks fine.

Poor shots for two wickets after tea
Report da77ler. November 17, 2009 9:52 AM GMT
i think the draw is a great bet here SL will prob be 160-170 behind at stumps and i actually think they will make around 550+ that means they will still be batting day 3 session 3 and will lead by 120-130 runs india knock those off prob 1st session day 4 so it will be all square with 5 sessions to go defo DRAW
Report Ernesto November 17, 2009 9:56 AM GMT
Well I'm going to have to cash in my draw lay in readiness for the layers paradise that will the Next Scotland Manager Market. :D
Report Birchola November 17, 2009 10:00 AM GMT
550's a bit optimistic imo. One or two wickets and the Lankans will look extremely fragile with their tail. I can see them getting a small lead before they're all out.
Report Captain Wurzel November 17, 2009 10:02 AM GMT
Three days to go here, I wouldn't be backing draw at short odds, pitch only going one way. India still got runs on board and sri lanka to bat last.
Report dougydougy. November 17, 2009 10:03 AM GMT
Speed of scoring, number of wickets fallen & conditions i.e no weather and enough light to get all the overs in every day suggest a result. I don't know enough about the pitch though at that is annoying me.
Report da77ler. November 17, 2009 10:04 AM GMT
birch if india dont get any more wickets tonight or early on tomorrow their heads will drop and batting on a flat track in the sun is easy here dont have to take any risks at all
Report Lix November 17, 2009 10:04 AM GMT
Draw is a massive lay.

SL could get bundled out for another 100 runs here. Hoping for no more wkts today and a nice low draw price to lay at close. The morning sesh usually brings wkts.
Report STEPTOES YARD November 17, 2009 10:06 AM GMT
Draw price getting back to right level now

1.96-2 was too high imo

Report Only-the-Brave November 17, 2009 10:29 AM GMT
not really great at trading tests, but the draw price looks big to me here. Batting seems to be easy, and you'd expect SL to bat for the majority of tomorrow no?
Report da77ler. November 17, 2009 10:30 AM GMT

SL will not declare they will bat and bat so will defo bat all day tomorrow if they are not bowled out
Report Ernesto November 17, 2009 10:32 AM GMT
As dougy said earlier depends on what the pitch does.

Last domestic game (4 days) was a draw here but I think there have only been two games in the domestic season so far and no idea if it's the same pitch.

150 behind at stumps
Report STEPTOES YARD November 17, 2009 10:34 AM GMT
True ern. Just think from a trade point of view can see draw being at 1.4 over next day and a half
Report Ernesto November 17, 2009 10:38 AM GMT
Yep, I'd like to be around to take advantage of that if 1.4 happens tomorrow.

India's attack has looked pretty toothless and they look like they're a bowler short with Ishant Sharma in the team
Report da77ler. November 17, 2009 10:39 AM GMT
Day 1 = 385 runs 6 wickets
Day 2 = 316 runs 7 wickets

make of that what you will i expect SL to score 550 minimum which means they should bat out the day tomorrow prob 580/9 at stumps day 3 so India 160 behind but a better batting side draw defo but india will not win
Report Lix November 17, 2009 10:46 AM GMT
Still a good batting pitch but could look very different on days 4 and 5. No guarantee India get 350+ to bring the draw into play, any less than that and the draw is out with the washing imo.
Report karaokechamp1 November 17, 2009 11:02 AM GMT

Report Lix November 17, 2009 11:54 AM GMT

SL tail doesnt look too clever either.
Report michael knight November 17, 2009 12:02 PM GMT
Expected Sharma to bowl sh1t and it looks like he did but what about Mishra - are his figures a true reflection of his performance? Shocking that this lad hasnt even played a first class game for months yet they still pick him.
Report LuisGarcia November 17, 2009 12:23 PM GMT
First hour crucial tomorrow...4 wickets in first hour of both days so far

What price India if SL 325-7 after an hour and with the new ball to come for the tailenders ?
A small lead for India certainly not out of the question for me.
Report richieboy44 November 17, 2009 1:12 PM GMT
stan's are laying evens that fall of next wicket is under 320 !!
now I reckon there's massive value given the fact that 8 wickets have fallen in the 2 morning sessions so far ...India can take the new ball after 81st over , so they have 11 overs with the old ball and then can take the new ball ...given these early starts, that even money shot should be sub 1.5 IMO , reason I don't hammer it myself is because I am restricted there and they won't lay me even ONE button anymore :( , but I really wouldn't be surprised to see SL 5 or 6 down by lunch 2morrow ...

True but that was with a new ball on day 1 and a fairly few ball on day 2 they will prob have to bowl the 1st hour with an old ball then hopefully the sun will be out

not sure how india can win from here
Report bigjoe November 17, 2009 5:32 PM GMT
obviously result depends on if and by how much the pitch breaks up ovr next 3 days :0 .... if it oes break up thn lnka battin last becoms critical , evn f they take a 100 run lead on first innings i would make injuns fav as lanka will struggle to chase up 250 on last day...but this injun batting lineup is well capable of scoring over 350 on 3rd and 4th days ;)

If pitch does not break up. then its a naled on draw :)

I Still say injuns the value .. big difference here is that india had yuvraj and dhoni at no6 and no7 ... lanka got mathews and prassana .. they good, but not that good ....injuns are one wicket away from a long lanka tail...ealy breakthough in the moning and lanka could still be all out or 350 ;)

Good Luk :
Report d13phe November 17, 2009 5:41 PM GMT
all indian hopes are on bowling sri lanka out for less than 400

at 4.3 i would want higher that this happens given that SL are 280/3 on a road that is placid as they come

also, pitches dont start detiorating when the 4th team starts batting.

Report Injera November 17, 2009 5:48 PM GMT
The market is in denial. SL in a very strong position.

For India to win they have to 7 wickets for 100, bat v.well and take a further 10 wickets.

4.3?? No thanks.
