Just occured to me that it is probably the first time that four Test playing Nations will be represented at the Football World Cup next year. England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand - they should be able to organise a little Twenty20 tournament to keep their interest when they all get knocked out after the first round...Holland could join in as well

After all the hype (and their fairly impressive qualifying campaign), I would laugh loud and long if England went out in the first round! But unless they get a rotten draw, a few injuries and some other bad luck, they should lose in the last eight.

As South Africa and Australia are represented by Steven Pienaar and Tim Cahill respectively, I will be firmly behind them. I'm not so bothered about New Zealand. Unless they get drawn in England's group - in which case I will support them wholeheartedly...

considering the new zealand team's nickname, i think a few saffers might have found another team to support...
