Playing devils advocate or just preempting BJ but winning when it mattered. Agree though that it is a silly unneeded attempt to pluck a "stat" from the sky.

from the master of the pluck tho ;)

Aussie 2nds 4 India 2

It won't be 6-1 so 5-2 it is.
|
By:
very disappointing ////pathetic effort by india, am totally gutted :(
|
By:
hahahahahah
Team Australia the best team IN THE WORLD |
By:
Does anyone know what the series prices were for 5-2 to the aussies?
|

Australia's series win, its fifth in a row in India, fortifies its No. 1 ranking in one-day cricket. The captain said he hoped the win would ''get the recognition it deserves''.
Joe...where were you getting your stats from or right Joe...no more talk about how great this India team is...it a good team, nothing great about it |
By:
I have been to India twice - they are cricket mad. Millions of people playing everywhere in parks and streets and wherever there is space. They love talking about it and I was always surprised at the knowledge and enthusiasm the normal Indian has for the cricket.
Yet these billion + people who love this sport to the exclusion of all other games get continually humbled at the same sport by OZ where 20 million people consider cricket sport no. 3 (behind Rugby League and Aussie Rules? my guess here). Joe, you lot must be the worst sportsmen on the face of the earth. |
By:
the shame of this defeat is that they have shown no bottle at all when it mattered.
completely folded this morning & like i said elsewhere, if Lee was fit it would have been 7-0 |
By:
Yes happy to concede thaat ffor now, the aussies remain top dogs in ODI.. but only for now ;)
Woeful series for injuns :( .. BUT, lets not forget its their first defeat in a series , home or away for 2 years.. so is it a blip.. or something more worrying :( The next few series will tell us the answer ;) ..i will be a happy bunny if injuns lose just the one series every 2 years :D |
By:
Looking at 6 -1 here I think
|
By:
More importantly Joe, we need to find a reason/plan, how you can erase this series from everyones minds, so it fits in with another bout of untrue/mindless stats next year, to argue that India are truly top dog.
Maybe we could use the India are unbeaten in all forms of cricket for 3 seasons if we discount November games. There must be a way around this blip, an outside distraction that can be used as a smokescreen? |
By:
don't worry BB .. if it exists the big fella will find it .. ;)

bakerboy....india have a "proud" record of dissapointing series/ tournies :(
But the one thing previous setbacks have in common is that they have proved to be blips rather then a sign of a collapse of injun cricket :0 I have seen the hopes and fantasies of Injun doubters brutally and mercilessly dashed in last few years :0 they are having orgasmic eruptions again at the thought that THIS time injuns might be on a downward spirel.. i fear though, that once again those fantasies and hopes will be dashed as India again prove that this was another blip..and they come back on track over the next few years ;) yes they need to look at reasons why they lost this series..... yes they need to learn from it.... but one thing they don't need to do is go over the top and make a mountain out of a molehill.. they know they got the talent.... they know they have already proved they can get to No1 ranking ...they just need to prove it again.. and they will.. believe me ; |
By:
bj, you probably shouldn't refer to other peoples' fantasies on this thread...
:| |
By:
"they know they got the talent"
I think that is half the problem. |
By:
lets dissect it .. ;)
bigjoe 09 Nov 13:08 bakerboy....india have a "proud" record of dissapointing series/ tournies .. :^0 But the one thing previous setbacks have in common is that they have proved to be blips rather then a sign of a collapse of injun cricket .. er they only just got anywhere near the top .. so logically it would be a cessation of their improvement rather than a collapse .. ;) I have seen the hopes and fantasies of Injun doubters brutally and mercilessly dashed in last few years .. paranoid schizophrenic springs to mind :0 they are having orgasmic eruptions .. i wish .. :( again at the thought that THIS time injuns might be on a downward spirel.. i fear though, that once again those fantasies and hopes will be dashed as India again prove that this was another blip..and they come back on track over the next few years .. thought they were already the dominant force in world ckt ?:| yes they need to look at reasons why they lost this series..... yes they need to learn from it.... but one thing they don't need to do is go over the top and make a mountain out of a molehill.. they know they got the talent.... they know they have already proved they can get to No1 ranking ...they just need to prove it again.. and they will.. believe me ; .. NO |

looks like India 6-1 or 5-2 backers will get their money back ....so maybe Joe's off the hook
|
By:
Yep.. Voided :D
Swings and roundabouts though...i backed injuns to beat England 7-0, 6-1 and 5-2 recently.. they were 5-0 up.. mumbai bombings made that market void :( |
