Playing member signing in- about 17 years is the current wait. To join as a player takes about 3 years. I go to Lord's all the time, it's easily the best £350 I spend each year. Not at all stuffy these days....lots of good guys who I played with and against over the last 20 years are members, its superb being able turn up, wander round one of the bars meet some familiar faces and enjoy the cricket and the banter.

I think it was the 1984 game between the MCC and MGS when they batted first (as always) on a wet wicket and Atherton spun them out for 80-odd :)
MGS knocked off the runs in double-quick time and the old boys weren't happy, chuntering about "unsporting" MGS...
