YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE :0

FACT: Siddle skiddles orf, yet another lilly livvered Ausies cries off to Mummy :p

.............. Hang on, a Dutchman to the rescue, India bottle in the Punjab or was it a**in Mohali?????

Hyderabad it is then. Bit of pace in the pitch (perhaps), chance of a storm or 2 (in Dhonut's underpants), flagging downbeat Injuns feeling the heat in the kitchen?

YOU decide :D

i think he was a bit tired dougy, as BigMig pointed out. not really his fault and he was the person who set up a chance for an astonishing win with a unforgettable innings.

don't think i would have put Bhaji up the order, and jadeja's runout was far more slack.
Report bombaclart November 5, 2009 4:05 PM GMT
the aussie fiedling was the difference in the end.

Funny old game. India probably lose by 100 if Tendles has an 'average' game.

Personally got spooked a tad by the number 350. Anything less and I'd have really fancied India to make a good game of it. As it was with the RRR at 7 , I always felt a few tidy overs would send it skywards. India always had it under control which is very rare.

Report Only-the-Brave November 5, 2009 4:10 PM GMT
India will continue to struggle until they find some decent bowlers it seems. They just can't restrict teams and the fast bowlers are gash. Have no doubt though that had I.Pathan been playing and not Kumar/Nehra, then India would have won due to his extra batting skills. Also worry about the team once sachin retires but we shall see.

Pak are the biggest threat of all asian teams imo. Just need to get some sort of consistency together.

Australia won because Sachin didn't heed his own advice, he told jadja we can do this in singles then next ball hit the ball up in the air trying to flick it over fine leg. Ridiculous choice of shot.

I'm not saying he wasn't 100% responsible for getting them into that position, but having done that he has to see them home.

bigjoe i'm sure you'll read this at some point, my heart was aching for you when india threw it away :(
Report Alfie Green November 5, 2009 5:38 PM GMT
Dougydougy calls it right, from that position India should have won easily just requiring singles, no need for anything silly.

One could say that Tendulkar cost them the game with that unwise choice of shot but where were all the other much vaunted batsmen for Indiia?

A class knock...deserved to win the game for India, one of the best ODIs I have seen probably second only to that crazy SA/Aus game.

Report bigjoe November 5, 2009 5:49 PM GMT
Yes very heartbreaking defeat Titan :(

Greattttt game :) .. but classical bottlejob by injuns :(

Shame tendulkar could not see them home, but what a fantastic effort by him :0

My dissapointment at india throwing it away though is matched by my admiration for the spirit shown by this aussie side in this series.. they been unlucky with injuries... basically a 3rd X1 bowling attack .. yet they find themselves leading series 3-2 ... incredible effort by them.. and all credit to them :)

Good Luck :)
Report bigjoe November 5, 2009 5:51 PM GMT
agree with anyother, it was a choke job from 19 required of 18 balls with 4 wickets in hand .. even i cannot describe that as anything but a bottlejob :(

but cricket was winner today too.. one of the best games in recent times :D
Report Alfie Green November 5, 2009 5:54 PM GMT
In fact, India probably would have won this game were it not for an utterly amazing run out from miles away. India's premier batsmen choked, with the exception of Tendulkar.

Hats off to this depleted Australian side, this is what team spirit does for you.
Report anyother November 5, 2009 5:56 PM GMT
very magnaminous of you bj .. who do you think will win the 6th game? .. :| .. ]:)
Report bigjoe November 5, 2009 6:08 PM GMT
If injuns won today guwhati would have been a walk over for injuns :0 .. but aussies will take so much momentum into that game on sunday..i can definatly see aussies escaping with just a drubbing rather then a masacre :D

Seriously though..i expect another batting paradise on sunday... if india bat first they SHOULD post 340+ and coast it... but if aussies bat first, i can see a chase for india of over 280 a bit tricky with memories of todays bottlejob fresh in their mind :(

I Think one change for india on sunday is certain now... jedeja will almost certainly be dropped.. he just not got the mental strentgh to bat at no7 .. kohli should be back in side on sunday as extra batsman i reckon :)
Report Only-the-Brave November 5, 2009 6:16 PM GMT
looking back on it, sending in bhaji above jadeja was a very costly decision. Not sure if it was dhonut's choice or not, but it was a bad one.

Report thetitan November 5, 2009 11:04 PM GMT
fwiw i didnt mind bhajji coming in ahead of jadeja, it made sense, RRR was still about 7ish and needed to keep up some momentum

jadeja was in woeful form and a pathetic excuse for a trainee international batsman, harbhajan has provided a couple of great cameos and even 15 off 10 would have shirley won them the match.
Report dougydougy. November 6, 2009 8:59 AM GMT
The other India batsman didn't choke getting out when the game is well and truly going against you for scores of 38, 8, 9 and 6 is not choking. Tendulkar getting out when set on 175 having reduced the game to 19 off 18 balls is choking, it's a the sin of sins, the other batsman were not in, (arguably Sehwag was) and there for can not be held responsible for their dismissals. Tendulkar trying to flick the ball over the head of fine leg when they need a run a ball goes down as nothing else but brain freeze.

This comes back to my early point about ms dhoni

He has played 2 significant knocks in this series so far scores of 124 setting up a winning total and 71 n.o chasing one down. the reason I argue he is the best ODI player in the world is because when he does get in he makes it pay, plays a substantial innings and he sees the f*cking thing through.
Report anyother November 6, 2009 9:11 AM GMT
175 is fairly substanial tho is it not ..
Report dougydougy. November 6, 2009 9:22 AM GMT

Report dougydougy. November 6, 2009 9:23 AM GMT
