Responding to the story confirming that Boycott’s TMS innings had come to an end, a Twitter contributor wrote: “White, male, straight, tory and knows about cricket. Surprised he lasted this long at the BBC.”

No doubt replaced by a female.

The bbc are going to go broke without any government intervening. 500k people give up their forced license every year.

Yep, I'll miss Geoffrey's stick of rhubarb and his granny's pinny. Most of all i'll miss his shrewd match reading which has made me the odd half-crown.

So true Cooperman, when he talked cricket I listened.

my first TMS line-up was Brian Johnston, Henry Blofeld, Christopher Martin-Jenkins and Don Mosey. With Fred T. and Trevor Bailey summarising.

Sir Geoffrey will be missed. There's only Aggers I like now. prefer Talksport these days as long as they keep the adverts until lunch and tea
