I applaud those who use cycling as a recreation to keep fit and save on fuel but their insistence on being able to cycle anywhere and everywhere is getting out of control. Today they are requesting that all public footpaths should be available to cyclists. Absolutely not. Enough paths around my locality are already filled with cyclists who come past at 20 miles an hour without warning so I try to stick to the ones that are confined to walkers.

They ring their puny bells and get visibly upset when you fail to respond to them, drowned out, as they are, by the very road traffic that they wish to avoid

Why can't motorcyclists get the same right of access to paths as cyclists ?
And let's go a step further, also allow cars carrying cyclists the same right of access to paths as cyclists.
And let's go a step further again, allow buses carrying cyclists who didn't fancy cycling today because they have a hangover or are just plain lazy the same right of access to paths as cyclists.
This would free up the roads for us pedestrians.

I can't abide them . What's the point of wearing lycra in the middle of town ? it's designed for wind resistance ffs ! If they're gonna use the road they should pay tax the same as any other road user .
And why do they insist on cycling two abreast in narrow country lanes ? An accident waiting to happen , surely ?

On the subject of lycra , there's a group who jog through Darlington on an evening wearing fluorescent green and lycra . A bowling ball is less wind resistant than a dart . A bowling ball adorned with lycra is still a bowling ball 
It's like the old one where certain types of people spend £500 more to shave 0.7kg in weight off their super bike and they themslves are 10kg overwight.
