Is was on a football pitch with an opposite pitch in the 1990's.
We heard this loud crack from the other pitch, the player lifted his leg up and it was broken in at least 2 places and flopped that way.

Loads of rugby related injuries but a punctured lung in February this year was rather grim and that tops all of them, I'm still getting over it slowly but surely.

Been a wagon driver for many years seen some horific stuff on the roads. The two that I always think of even though I have seen worse are the trapped van driver on fire his van was carring low level nuclear waste for hospitals that was Toddhills just north of Carlisle in the early 90s the fire was like nothing I have ever seen before or since. The second was about 2 years ago on the M6 toll M42 a lorry ran up the back of another wagon at speed the cab detatched from the chassis and embedded itself about 7/8 foot into fully loaded trailer

You see some things you would rather forget when you are an hgv driver. We once got sent out to recover some mail from a Glasgow van that had crashed on the 69 coming back from Newcastle the bastards sent us out before the body had been recoverd, to quote a work maye "I nwver knew a human body could be twisted like that". Poor bastard had gone througj the windscreen and hit a tree

As a child (maybe 8 - 10) at Roundhay Park, some kids of similar age were running down a slope, and jumping across a pit that had been dug out.
A girl fell in and was pulled out covered (I thought at first) in mud...
It was actually blood, and we found out later that the pit was full of broken glass.
It was horrific, and she was bleeding from top to toe!
No mobile phones back then, and a fair way back to "The Mansion" to get help....
Don't know what happened, as I was pulled away, but she may well have not survived!

South America. ISIS had the best cinematography, easily professional standard, but in terms of violence the South American drug cartels win hands down.

On a similar vein macarony my younger brother is a train driver for South West trains based in Waterloo. Over the years he has had 5 or 6 jumpers all smashed to smithereens, me personally I could just not deal with that but he just shrugs his shoulders now and says it's part and parcel of the job and after the second jumper he completely desensitized himself, I would struggle to cope with that.

We used use the rail all the time and we had station staff, been a few occasions when someone has jumped infront of a train and the driver did not know and drove the train into Carlisle station with some poor B@stards remains still on the front of the train in full view of passengers and staff. The Westcoast main line is close to both the Garlands now the Carlton clinic Carlisle and Carstairs in Lanark.

As a kid in the 70's , I was playing out and there was a family who lived opposite. There was an adult brother who I recall was a bit odd. He was outside with his sister's baby. He was throwing the baby up and catching it. He threw the baby too high and missed it , landing on cobbles.
I remember the mum coming out and running down the road with the baby , screaming .
Not nice.
