Three items are required if you can truly claim to have held a meeting.
1 - An Agenda 2 - Time bound actions arising from the meeting 3 - A set of minutes of the meeting
Without these, you didn't really have a meeting and that is the case for the majority of workplace meetings which would more accurately be described as WAG's i.e. work avoidance gatherings
Well said, Angoose. I despise so called workplace meetings with a passion and could probably write a book on them.
Detestable gatherings to be condemned by all reasonable and sensible people.
In my experience, the "WAG" proponents' idea of a meeting is a whiteboard, post it notes, a long table with "trendy" chairs, but above all a small overpriced bottle of fruit flavoured fizzy water at each place. I still have nightmares of such occasions, hearing "pssst" every few minutes as brown nosing often badge wearing "delegates" try to outdo their colleagues for smugness and feigned interest. As you imply, a bolt hole for the workshy.
