It's simply not on to abandon your shopping market trolley in the car park after transferring your groceries in to your car.
Be a good citizen, return the trolley to an appropriate storage space.

Its given me an idea

Lets take all the shopping trolleys down to downing streets entrance, and leave them all outside the gate

With the pound taken out of em, thug life
Report Crisp77 April 3, 2019 12:51 PM BST
We can't allow these shopping trolleys to have a mind of their own
Report Make my hay April 3, 2019 12:51 PM BST
You can't take the pound out without locking it to another trolly in the carpark unless you've got some special key. If you have got a special key could you tell me where you got it from so I can start leaving my trolly in the middle of Lidls the car park after transferring my groceries into my car.

Where would I put my groceries if all the trolleys are in Downing Street Scared
Report mouse muldoon April 3, 2019 12:54 PM BST
Middle of the Avon is the favoured place to leave them round 'ere.

A plastic spoon from a tub of ice-cream easily allows you to release the coin Crazy
Report SontaranStratagem April 3, 2019 1:03 PM BST
Pinch a on its own trolly

Take it home and cut the key chain off

Take it with you on your next supermarket outing

Job done
Report Angoose April 3, 2019 1:05 PM BST

Not a canal nearby?

A plastic spoon will just break I would of thought
Report Angoose April 3, 2019 1:11 PM BST
It's a flat spoon, one of the trolley attendants gave one to my wife one day when she didn't have any change Grin
Report Make my hay April 3, 2019 1:16 PM BST
OK I shall keep my eyes open for items containing flat plastic spoons, thanks for the tip.

Just pinch a trolly?

And put it into the back of the car?

You've always got one then
Report SteelCurtain April 3, 2019 1:31 PM BST

A friend of mine's son got a job in the summer collecting supermarket trollies. Now I know this is not the done thing but he had a running competition with his student workmate pal to see who could collect and pocket the most pound coins. He was winning with thirteen coins (!) with one day to go till the end of their contract when there was a fire alarm inside the store. Everybody out, fire brigade arrives, folks eventually drift away leaving their trolleys (with pounds) inside the store. Cue the manager to tell his pound rival to go and collect the trollies and put them back when emptied. (thirty six of them!).

He didn't think to jump in and help?
Report politicspunter April 3, 2019 1:36 PM BST
He was on a different shift.
Report SontaranStratagem April 3, 2019 1:37 PM BST
Ah

That must have been a choker

I'd have done the shop windows in for that
Report politicspunter April 3, 2019 1:39 PM BST
They used to collect the tokens too. They sold them at a car boot sale for a pound each.

Could pinch one at night time it would save a lot of time walking to-and-fro, I shall bear that in mind if the spoon thing doesn't work out, cheers.

This is a really good thread that Angoose has started about not talking shopping trollys back, he's a top bloke.
