Lion

David Attenborough narrates footage of a lion pride on Kenya's Masai Mara that has reached a dangerous and unusual turning point where the future of the group hangs in the balance.

The adult males that had defended the price have all deserted the group, leaving two remaining adult females to protect their eight cubs from a wide range of threats, including rival prides, herds of buffalo and the constant menace of marauding hyenas.

However, the greatest threat of all comes when the lions encounter humans

Excellent film of the lions ;staggering to learn that the lion population has reduced to such an extent over past 20 years. If the decline continues at the same rate there probably won't be any left in 20 years time.

Thats terrible, if someone offered me a free trip to shoot dead ivory poachers , i'd gladly do it and celebrate with a glass of Red

trophy hunting/killing is one thing, killing a wild animal for the sake of it and having your picture taken with it, but the ivory poachers killing Elephants for their tusks are doing it out of desperation, do it to make money and its generally sold on the black market in China, it was done legally before the start of the year but they changed the law. Not that I condone it but that's easy for all of us to say living in a comfortably well off country with all the amenities we need, if you were living in Southern Africa with no hope, no prospects, no money - your survival instincts will kick in and you will kill an elephant for money. It's a western mentality to look at the big cuddly elephant and be outraged by their poaching, desperate people in the 3rd world don't quite view the world in the same way.

Basically dambuster you are wanting to go and kill poor people who are trying to survive, I don't like the thought of elephant killings for their tusks either, but I understand why it happens. Killing one or 2 poachers would not change anything anyway.

So what you're saying  scandanavian, is if you are poor you can kill for money, so in your book, its ok for poor desperate people over here, to go out and rob and attack people for there hard earned cash, so if you,or a member of your family were to be attacked or killed by someone who Robs them, then your ok with that.Crazy

no, no that's no what I'm saying. People over here can go and get a job on minimum £7.5 an hour, and if they can't find a job and they qualify for governement help they can get it. Britain is a welfare state. I hardly think many African nations are the same and offer the same opportunities in life.
