How the heck do these salt of the earth,misunderstood,put upon,fine upstanding members of the human race manage to pay for the most ostentatious funerals that can possibly be imagined. Most if not all of them are pig thick and have never done an honest day's work in their lives ; it's a real puzzle.

I've never heard of you Emitdeb however I admire your honesty in declaring that you've reported a post rather than doing so anonymously. I can't however understand what you object to;you only have to read the newspaper reports of the behaviour of the so called 'mourners' to realise that this was not a funeral attended by normal human beings. If you're impressed by their spending a reported £100k on the event that's your right however I ask the questions ...where did the money come from ? and if ha ha the wealth was accumulated from lawful employment was income tax paid ? I suspect most people in this country sympathise with the poor chap who was being robbed by the gypsy (rather than with the dead man) and as a result of threats from the so called Traveller community has had to be moved to a safe house.

Most surprising they are a protected species, given, lets say their alternative lifestyle, non conforming.

I do wish the media et all would not lump them together like they do
the Romany are not too keen on the travellers/irish tinkers etc who hung on to their coat tails (as it were) to become declared an ethnic group in this country

They're a problem mecca.
Camp every year near the village my son lives in.
Will nick anything that isn't nailed down.
Intimidate older people to let them do work.
Do the task then try to charge more than agreed.
A work colleague had the same problems.
Never heard anyone with anything positive to say about them.

a dear close friend of mine was romany - fascinating attitude to life - sadly no longer with us - a strange relationship for a gorger like me but illuminating
as have my relationships with muslim, hindus, 'so called black' friends(none who are actually black - bar one) etc etc
one thing they have had in varying degrees was an acceptance of the british way of life or have adapted quite well to it and ditched some of the more extreme or 'bad' elements of their cultures and religions
it is fascinating to listen and delve into their backgrounds and beliefs
don't know if my rantings make sense !!! but I nose a fing or three -- ha ha

aka we are talking 'travellers' here - they cling on to the 'untouchable' ethnic label and protection
when they are in fact nothing of the sort but the courts allowed it way back
