The Soft Cell version is great and of our time and the one we may remember and play but in no way is it way better than the original. If you consider the time of the original 1964 and the equipment used to record it you could say it has amazing power.

Never liked Aerosmith's version leff.

Slower than the original and the whole fun of it is the recklessness of it. You shouldn't be hearing the notes all played cleanly and individually; all about the pull offs. And they kill the middle too. Van/Page version far better. My band plays it pretty regularly and it's one which we'll push back if we think the people are up for it. Guarantee if it's near the end of the set then it's lightning and I better be ready.
