Spotted a taxi driver doing 62 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone. Pulls him over and issues him with a ticket. Bloke says he's not accepting it. Plod says you are going to have to accept it and issues him with the ticket. Bloke already has 13 points on his licence and has been getting away with paying fines to keep his licence as he has so many dependants. Plod thinks no more about it. A couple of days later plod called into Chief Inspector's office. He's told there's been a complaint of racism made against him and to explain why he issued a speeding ticket. He's asked how many Asian men he's issued tickets to. He says he's no idea. All he takes into account is the speed of the motor vehicle and said motor vehicle was travelling at 62 mph and he had no option but to issue a ticket because it was so dangerous. Chief Inspector says there will have to be an investigation.
Chief Constable of West Yorkshire police and his Assistant turn up. Call for plod. We've completed said investigation and as you've issued 3 tickets to white people and 2 tickets to Asians we've concluded you are not a racist. Plod asks if he had issued more tickets to Asians would that mean he's a racist. Chief Inspector asks plod how long it is till his retirement. Plod responds 9 months. Plod told to keep his nose clean. (or risk losing his pension if there are more allegations of racism)

Years ago I was an area manager for a blue chip company ...which included doing sick reviews ..must have done 20/25 then I had to do one on a british born Pakistani girl... she said I was a racist for doing it ....unbelievably I was investigated for being a racist I could not believe it ...on the plus side about6/7 black and Asian people all wrote letters to say I was the least racist boss they had ever had ...I didn't ask for them to do this they just thought it was wrong.

There are two things that strike me apart from this guy playing the race card.
The first is that driving at 62 mph in a 30 mph zone is incredibly dangerous. To be let off with just points seems extremely lenient. The first reaction should've been to increase the charges to dangerous driving.
The second is that it's a different police force to Rotherham, which is South Yorkshire, and Rochdale in Lancashire. The disgraceful failings in those two towns were not fundamentally down to a failure of those individual police forces. More down to the legal and political hierarchy putting into place a system where people are afraid to do their job properly for fear of being labelled a racist.
The disgraceful payment of £100k to Eniola Aluko and the ridiculous calls for yet another enquiry just emphasize that this culture is still thriving.

CLYDEBANK I would be surprised if the policeman did not have a union rep with him in this instance, additionally a scribe to keep a record of said discussion. If what you say did happen then the policeman has grounds for complaint !
@lfc1971 -- funny how the plight of girls in care only matters when they are being raped by Pakistani taxi drivers. That's why the police did nothing -- they thought the girls were asking for it.

It's a story I find hard to believe. Can you substantiate it in any way or is it apochryful?

cooperman I was dragged round by the wife to someone's party. The only person I knew was this retired policeman so I chatted to him for a bit. I've left a little out (about the conversations with his bosses), but it's clear from the bits I've left out that there was no union and he is the type of bloke to stand up for himself and not take any BS. I've little doubt myself that he was telling the truth.

If this was, say, a british driver driving in an asian country, he would have been ripped off by the cop. The driver would then have accepted his fate knowing pretty well that if he went to any authority he will be ripped off there too. He knows the system of that country. Next time he's in that country, he wont dare overspeed(probably will use public transport next time). That is how it is in many countries.
Back to this taxi driver, if he had known that no authority would listen to his complaint, he would not have complained. He would have just accepted the ticket and would have been careful next time. But he knows the british system too. So he plays the racist card. And makes the cop look stupid.
In both cases, the clever of the two uses the system to his advantage. That's all there is to it. People using the system to their benefit. Asylum seekers, benefits seekers, draft dodgers etc are just the people with a little extra intelligence working the system to their benefit while the rest of the sheep comply.

I don't think that's a fair analogy detraveller, the British driver in asia had to pay the cop.

I am comparing the asian policeman to the asian driver, not to the briish cop. Both of them use the system to their benefit.

No I didn't say that. I agree the asian cop would not be under any of that pressure. Not in his own country. That sort of fear can only be associated with cops in UK(or some other Euro countries). We are the only ones not being able to create a system where we can have more rights than the ones trying to exploit it

I think what detraveller means is that it's Britains fault again. We create a fair system and then when it is abused we have only ourselves to blame.
There's a common theme I'm detecting in a lot of detravellers posts, I'm not sure what it is .

The liberal luvee's like Lilly Allen saying this country doesn't do enough. Would you really want to bring a Syrian child into our care system. Kids in care in this country seem to get a very raw deal

Its not Britain's fault. Creating a fair system is the easy part. There are many former colonies of britain that use the same system on paper. But practically they exploit it for their own benefit. Britain is one of the few countries where outsiders exploit the system.
Creating a fair system is not easy, it is difficult. If it is merely on paper and not in practice then you have created nothing, except words.
