I remember local shops that stayed open that day, had their windows smashed! Sheer madness. Madness from which the UK hasn't been cured.

I had some workmen at my house all week (extension being built).
On the Friday they asked if it would be okay to do the Saturday morning shift.
Was no problem to me but they did get a it of grief from a neighbour as did I.

no its the sort of behaviour id expect from people who couldnt give a toss about someone they'd never met, and socially/upbringing was a million miles away.
