I had an alarm clock from 1998 that i recently found no longer worked.
Now i don't seem to have anything older than a printer i bought in 2007 , though haven't checked that for a while .Everything else seems to be 2012 or later .

Yesterday I came across an old pocket calculator from about 40 years ago which still works. Not sure why I kept it though.
My old man has an electrolux tumble drier still in frequent use that was a wedding present. At one time it did three heat settings
but only does very hot now but will get pretty much anything dry in half an hour, the timer still works too.
My folks were married in 1959.

I have a Travel Iron, in it's box, which is possibly as early as 1930s (certainly no later than 1950).

That must be a fire hazard....get rid of it as soon as possible !

@Facts -- no batteries; it is a Casio fx-451 which has a solar cell. The web says it was from 1985 so it is not, as I'd thought, the one I used for A-levels, but is still 32 years old.

My parents have a huge chest-style freezer. It came with the house they bought in 1982!
Sometimes a large buildup of ice forms around the edges that my Dad has to chip of with a wooden spoon and a hammer.

had an old 1930s eec fan in the shed, old wiring , big heavy and full of dust ,tentivly plugged it in and flicked the switch expecting it to either not work or fuse the plug sockets ,works as good as new !
Just remembered, I have a soldering iron which I used to make a transistor radio, in the late 50s.....
i have a phillips black and white tv/medium wave radio/casette tape thing i got in the late 70s
all function but tv signal has gone, casettes are up in
the loft and there isnt a huge amount on medium wave radio
it will likely last another 40 years if i dont throw it out first
