If so did anyone attach any better engine/motor
on it.I would like to own one just to cruise about
the city centre.Think of the shortcuts you could
pull on one of them bad boys.

Used to but was embarrassed to be seen driving it so I traded it in for a Puch Maxi.

Here for auction is my 1985 Sinclair c5.
These iconic electric vehicles were considered a joke at the time, but nowadays they are very collectable, and always cause a scene when I'm out on one.
This one has had quite a colourful life, being owned by rob arthur, the co driver to the 1970s and 1980s rally legend tony pond, who campaigned the triumph tr8 and then the mighty metro 6r4.
On one of the wheel trims is a sticker from the southern car club who have told me about rob,by the sounds of it he was a great character, having used the c5 in the 1980s on something called the thames ditton foot rally, which apparently had lots of stages in pubs lasting from hours to weekends, the money being collected be given to charities.
Then with all the stickers on the Sinclair,it also did a lap of the British grand prix but to which year is unclear, but again early eighties. GrinLaughLaugh
It's also fitted with full sabelt harnesses, which unclip and are in the boot.
Since purchasing I have fitted new rear tyres and got it working but will need the wires soldering, but if I get time this week they will be done.
So it has the rear light unbroken.
The front light unbroken.
New tyres.
Will need a battery but I have one to use.
Many thanks.

Now fully working, with new wire's soldered on and a new battery to go with the c5.

Like a bean. Thing about a c5 is people kind of mocked the cycling aspect but I've seen a number of 3 wheeler recumbents that are a lot like C5s without the plastic cladding. Strangely, the people who drive them also seem to often have beards and glasses Laugh

I'd buy one if it looked like this:
