Come back Paxman - all is forgiven! Did you notice that he had a dig at Farage without actually naming him with his loaded questions with that black author that he interviewed?
If O'Brien worms his way in to being the Newsnight anchor, then I for one will never watch it again. The BBC love this guy - anyone who hates Farage and what he stands for, the leftish BBC would be glad to employ!

Jabbers on for ages at the start of his show on LBC giving his own leftish views on a subject, completely uninterrupted of course.
Then invites people to phone in and give their views. Only he doesn't allow them to give their views if they differ from his.
The second he detects any lack of agreement in anything they say, he pins them down on a trivial point to discredit their argument, and at the same time to stop them from presenting the rest of their case.
He's basically a coward, because he won't let anyone who opposes him speak freely through fear of losing the argument himself.

I don't actually - I just saw him last night to see how he would handle the show compared to his LBC presenting 'skills'. I didn't see the whole show. I was not impressed, so won't be watching it again if he's presenting it.
After the Farage interview on LBC, I was so disgusted at the way O'Brien treated Farage that I had no desire to watch/listen to any of his interviews ever again.

moysey - you do love to rush to judgments don't you?
I hardly ever watch Newsnight, don't think I've listened to/watched LBC. Have seen clips of him online. While I will more often than not agree with the general tone of what he says he comes across as a bit of a pub bore to me. Never been interested in that radio channel though; just seem to want to get the most extreme views on and have a barney about it. Like the Today show on roids. Can do without it thanks.

PP .....try listening to James O'Brien and you will quickly come to the conclusion he is a good guy.
These right wing knuckle-draggers are well scared of him.....that's why they attack him.
He could be a future Labour PM if he wanted to go down that road.

Leopard - don't doubt he's a good guy etc. I just find the format of this type of thing a bit dull. Seem to be more interested in generating 3 minute highlights that can fit on Facebook and generate advertising revenue. All a bit cynical for me.
Political discourse though is quickly going the way of football fandom. All about winners and losers now and jeering at the opposition. QT looks like it's on its last legs. Too many people are out there with too many ill-informed opinions but are convinced me they're right due to the echo chamber they inhabit.
