l.b.c been going downhill for some time the only reason they pay big money to katie hopkins and nigel farage is for the advertising to let them think theres loads listening wheres there is not ian collins and nick abbot have killed the night time listeners even rainbow george phones other stations now lol
Report The Leopard • January 3, 2017 11:06 AM GMT
Ian Collins is a quite good .....raises a chuckle, Nick Abbott is funny as well
But I don't listen to them that much.
Report The Leopard • January 3, 2017 11:07 AM GMT
But Collins is an anti-Brexiteer
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 3, 2017 11:16 AM GMT

is this guy from Hampstead? and has he ever recited a story about being on a tube train with Eric Cantona, and regretting getting off at his stop rather than staying to chat to him? I remember a caller of this name who used to phone into local BBC radio years ago, so been doing it for years, there'a few regular callers to stations that like doing the rounds.

LBC is a brilliant station, but I frequently switch listening now because the obsession many of their presenters have with Donald Trump.

It seems to be the same tripe night after night. Donald Trump ad nauseam.
Report Dr Crippen • January 3, 2017 12:58 PM GMT
By the way, James O'Brien doesn't talk sense.

He's just a leftie who's brilliant at making bilge sound like sense.
And ridiculing people who phone in, who obviously don't expect to be at the sharp end of his tongue after differing from his extreme views.
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 3, 2017 1:23 PM GMT
thats why listeners have left trump and politics every night
Report GoOnThen • January 3, 2017 1:30 PM GMT
O'Brien is a nothing more than a shock jock. The Adrian Durham of LBC.Farage is a far better act imho.
Report Dr Crippen • January 3, 2017 2:14 PM GMT
I can't think why anyone would phone in with a contrary view to O'Brien.
When all they can guarantee is a roasting or ridicule before being cut off.

His left wing stance might do his BBC Newsnight prospects no harm at all. Because as a publicly funded organisation, the BBC can easily stand losing viewers through extreme political bias.

LBC are in a different position, they depend on people listening to their shows for their revenue through advertising.
They can't afford to lose listeners over rude presenters with strong personal political agendas.

that twit on at 4.00 am steve allen thinks hes the best on l.b.c someone should tell him why hes on at 4.00 am nobody listens then
Report GoOnThen • January 4, 2017 12:23 PM GMT
Just had to switch O'Brien after 5mins. Unbelievably arrogant.
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 4, 2017 12:33 PM GMT
my friend who works at LBC said all the phone lines were busy for 3 hours when nigel farage was on when ian collins and nick abbot are on only a couple of callers sometimes none
Report GoOnThen • January 4, 2017 12:38 PM GMT
Was listening to Farage last night. He's absolutely top notch, without a hint of the arrogance and entitlement displayed by JO'B.
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 4, 2017 1:06 PM GMT
the good thing about farage hes listen and lets you speak
Report Dr Crippen • January 4, 2017 1:18 PM GMT
Farage isn't rude to people who disagree with his views. That's why he's never short of callers phoning in.

Struth, Farage is only a beginner at the game, and already he's showing the others how to do it.
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 4, 2017 1:23 PM GMT
katie hopkins the same lets you speak and have your say
Report Dr Crippen • January 4, 2017 1:27 PM GMT
O'Brien started today raving on (yes he does rave)about executives pay being too high in comparison to people's pay at the bottom of the scale.

Did he mentioned how much he's paid by LBC? Or how much he gets from the BBC and from all the other lucrative sources he draws money from?

He's a champagne socialist if ever there was one. Which also makes him a total hypocrite.
Report Dr Crippen • January 4, 2017 8:23 PM GMT
He was on the One Show tonight.
Where he admitted that you can win an argument even if you are wrong if you simply use the right tactics.
Which is what he does all the time.

And he unwittingly gave us an example soon after.
That was when he was challenged over his assertion that experts are essential.
Someone pointed out that the experts got it wrong over the last recession, the last GE, Brexit and Trump.

He bluffed it out as usual by saying that was the pollsters not the experts, and if you look at the big picture stuff they got it right on Brexit and Trump.

What's the point of arguing with a berk like that?

He is a fine example of what this country produces these days.

He is absolutely awful I will not watch Newsnight when he is on, full stop. He so arrogant and patronising he makes Will Self seem meek and unassuming. He's a total horses posterior. I rarely watch Newsnight at all now tbh. Evan Davis FFS eat some pies, he looks like he's a death camp survivor Sad. He's not that good either but still streets ahead of O'Brien - at least you can tolerate him.
Report GoOnThen • January 4, 2017 9:42 PM GMT
Agree about Newsnight. Emily only one worth watching.
Report the.mad.dog.man • January 4, 2017 9:42 PM GMT
you only have to complain to LBC they will soon get rid of him
Report Dr Crippen • January 4, 2017 10:55 PM GMT
Evan Davis JC?

Here he is playing Mr Barlow in Salem's Lot:

They saved a fortune on makeup using Evan for the part.

Couldn't agree more mad dog man regarding your comments about Steve Allen. Its beyond me how LBC still employ this idiot. He constantly big's himself up as if the station would fall apart without his input yet the truth of the matter is he's a liability.Refuses to accept calls because he knows he would be taken apart, instead he bores on and on about subjects that no one except this egotistical maniac cares about such as Peter Andre,Katie Price and the cast of TOWIE.Allen repeats himself Ad nauseam and the only thing the fella is good for is to send you back to sleep...thanks for reading...rant overHappy

Steve Allen recently told us that Judge Rinder would be taking part in Strictly. The next morning, bookies were still offering 8/1 that he would participate, so Steve`s alright with me. He does repeatedly talk a lot of tosh, though...
Report twizzle22 • January 5, 2017 1:32 PM GMT
I'm surprised you took any notice of the idiot..you just got lucky tim.
Report timbuctooth • January 5, 2017 1:44 PM GMT
Maybe! He also said Louise Redknapp was joining but, being only 4/6, I didn`t back her.
