To be honest when there's a beast thread it's usually people like Kennyman and Ebulgerry asking for clemency.

100 year old Confused
Report tobermory • December 17, 2016 7:12 PM GMT
oh i see

A 101-year-old man - thought to be the oldest person convicted in British legal history - has been found guilty of historical child sex offences.
Jurors found Ralph Clarke from Erdington, Birmingham, guilty of 21 counts of abusing two girls in the 1970s and 80s.
He admitted nine charges relating to a young boy part-way through his trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
Clarke told police he was "immune to feelings", the court heard.
See the latest updates and reaction to this story here
The former RAF serviceman, of Holly Lane, who was born in March 1915, sat impassively as the unanimous verdicts were delivered.
Judge Richard Bond said he needed to "ponder with care" the sentence and added: "The reality is that he's so old it's unlikely he'll be released back into the community."
He said the public would be "horrified" if Clarke was not sent to prison.

I was being sarcastic.I hear people coming out with his ridiculous crap about Karma. The idea that what goes around comes around, and if you do something bad something bad eventually happens to you.
I know some people who have had through no fault of their own had,and kept having the most incredible load of crap dumped on top of their head lifewise.Relentless bad luck, bad health etc,and of course they are the nicest people in the world, and carry their load with dignity and show the most incredible resilience when dealing with it all.
The two cases that i quoted shows, just like the other year when they caught the 95 year old ex Nazi guard, that bad people live long lives, don't succumb to Cancer and have the all of best luck going. So the next time some idiot goes on about Karma, like me, tell him he's talking complete crap,as the facts don't support the theory in the slightest.

I think ye've got that badly wrong pipedreamer.
When peep say karma they are referring to someone getting their comeuppance.
Nowt to do with any theories.
Report Torquemada • December 17, 2016 8:21 PM GMT
Realistically, there isn't any punishment society could impose on a 101 year old that is worse than just being that old. He'll be dead very soon anyway.
Report pipedreamer • December 17, 2016 8:42 PM GMT
Oh so living to 101 is a punishment!!???.Rejoice all you terminal cancer sufferers!!.My sister died at 42,mother at 58,how lucky they were!!!,not to live to 100.
That's the point, about people getting their comeuppance. They don't!!!.Karma is a theory that bad people get bad stuff returned. The THEORY is wrong!!!
Report Torquemada • December 17, 2016 8:45 PM GMT
LIVING to 101 isn't a punishment, BEING 101 is a punishment.
Report akabula • December 17, 2016 8:55 PM GMT
When peep say Karma they are normally saying it after the comeuppance.
Maybe using it wrongly but that their meaning.

To be honest when there's a beast thread it's usually people like Kennyman and Ebulgerry asking for clemency.

I ask for justice not clemency Shrewd Dude.

Even though this man is 100 years old then he should still serve sentence, he seems to be guilty.

I imagine it will be an open prison and later prison hospital at his age.
Report ebulGery • December 17, 2016 10:40 PM GMT
If they know for certain he is dying, they may release him back into the community for the last couple of weeks

as they did with Reggie Kray, there is no obligation though.

It would have helped if the abused had come forward a little earlier.
Report Shrewd_dude • December 17, 2016 10:45 PM GMT
he seems to be guilty.

He admitted to diddling kids so I think you can remove the "seems".
Report pantsonfire • December 17, 2016 10:45 PM GMT

Report akabula • December 17, 2016 10:54 PM GMT
Not sure when they came forward Ebul but experience tells you that in a lot of cases abused children struggle to tell anyone.
The minds a powerful thing and you cannot ever lay any blame on these kids because they didn't come forward sooner.

Fair enough Akabula

But we are talking about things that happened 30 - 40 years ago, why wait this long?

Read my post again Ebul.
Report Shrewd_dude • December 17, 2016 11:09 PM GMT
What Aka says is right and applies to both this and other abuse cases but as well as that I understand that in this case 2 of his victims came forward when they noticed him celebrating his 100th birthday on Facebook. They probably presumed he'd been dead for the last 20 years until they saw that.

I have no knowledge of karma and care for it even less.

Though the concepts of luck both good and bad in reference to some form of 'justice' has been reflected on by philosophy for millennia and is quite an interesting concept.

Good and evil don't exist in nature, they are human constructs and to evaluate one life to another based on arbitrary elements of lengths of life etc are erroneous.

The example of 'good' people attracting 'bad' luck, who endure suffering while 'bad' people have long lives benefiting from 'good' luck is only a fraction of the larger picture.

Why is it firstly assumed that life is better than death when nobody knows what death is?
Also, although it initially sounds a young age to die at 42, it's often said they were the life and soul or were generous and didn't deserve it etc. How do you know there isn't parity between levels of suffering?
Living a short happy life might equal a long one feeling nothing and not fitting into the 'norms' of acceptance in society.

The assumption that life should be cherished is only ever rolled out when needs must, look at all the examples when nobody gives a damn if others suffer while we are OK ourselves.
We are born into environments not of our making, most have to struggle through life because others want more than enough, unless born into wealth you have a shackle on your neck most of your life having to be a minion of others greed.
Why would that be preferable, and where did any of us request it?
Report dustybin • December 19, 2016 9:54 AM GMT
There are rules 'written' into the fabric of life, one of these can be interpreted in its most basic form....that pleasure becomes death.
Naturally created toxins create pleasure within the human, which are akin to rewards that shape the nature of the person.
These toxins are regulated due to the fact they damage organs in the body.
When you experience pleasure the effect it has on the heart is just as significant as 'bad' experiences, therefore all 'good' and 'bad' pushes you closer to death.
