I watched the 10 episodes on netflix when it was first aired and was convinced he was fitted up.I watched it again last month just to see if i had missed something but it just confirmed what i already thought.

The film is not a 'here are all the facts , make your own mind up' type thing. It is purely aimed at showing the corruption of the police/prosecutors
What you miss by watching the series is what the film makers chose to leave out .
And there is a lot
Without going through all of it i'd say the most blatant thing is that they make out that Theresa was just randomly hired by Steven as the photographer to take pictures of the car and they had no prior history .
The fact is she had been there before , he had answered the door wearing a towel , she found him very creepy and made clear she wouldn't be doing any work at that place again .But Steven calls the company , gives a false name , asks for 'the girl you sent last time' , calls her phone twice prior to the appointment and withholds his number , calls her number after she's dead without holding his number
Ah thats the point !The film is not a 'here are all the facts , make your own mind up' type thing. It is purely aimed at showing the corruption of the police/prosecutors What you miss by watching the series is what the film makers chose to leave out
That evidence was planted etc and the police were determined to put him away i don't doubt , and yes on that basis there is a good case for releasing him.
I do think he did it though.
