Putting aside any differences people may have about his personality etc I am not sure his business interests have been discussed enough. As the leader of the US and it's policies, surely there is going to be a conflict of interests between him being President and his business holdings? I have heard about a blind trust etc, but you can't honestly say that his family running this are not going to be privy to information that will help the Trump empire. This is not a Trump bashing thread, but an important point I think needs addressing.

On the bright side, he has billions.

He doesn't need to dip his greasy mitts into the public purse like many politicians do.

He's been President 3 or 4 days, lets be fair & give the man a chance.

Not that he has much to beat anyway - don't worry he'll get all the important things
done like build the wall ban muslims & deport hispanics!
Report Hank Hill • November 12, 2016 11:48 PM GMT
Well he has been President elect for a few days. Won't be the new President until January. You don't think this is a concern at all Ron?

Paul Ryan now seems excited enough about the times ahead working with Trump.

The media have turned Trump in to some disaster waiting to happen,

as always said nothing to lose as the majority would have got nothing back from
a Hillary Presidency - With the team Trump will have around him  nothing
to be concerned about id suggest

Well, as I stated earlier his VP choice to appease the evangelicals is enough of a worry, but we'll have to wait and see how things turn out. I do agree Hillary was not a great choice for dems, especially as elements on the right have been after her since the 90s. Would have liked to have seen how Sanders would have done against Trump, but now we'll never know.

if a guy takes over my gambling and makes 10 million for me I wont mind if he takes a million for his family.
As with Trump if he sorts out the American finances and everyone is getting richer and has a steady job nobody is going to care if the trump family made a few billion for themselves.

From what some of the Republicans say Sanders may well have won it,
but as we've seen with WikLeaks Clinton even had him stitched up to win
the Democrats nomination

Trump is now President of the United States.

He will have his successes and failures.

The only objection to him is from immigrants and women.

Perhaps they need to know the world does not run round them, and stop having kiddies tantrums.

Trump has a difficult job ahead, probably wish he had not taken it in 4 years.

Plus I can't wait to see this wall, he deserved to be elected just for thatLaugh

A wall stretching 2,000 miles across the US-Mexico border would cost a lot of money
Report Hank Hill • November 13, 2016 1:05 AM GMT
I don't think I did Ron, but I can't guarantee it Laugh Not only the length of the border, but there would be a lot of property that would need to be acquired. I think it will be an election plan that will fail to be implemented, but perhaps some areas that are more worrisome like certain border areas like California and Texas may have parts built. eG you do such a good job I can never tell when you are serious or tongue in cheek Laugh

The only time NATO has invoked it's self defence clause, that an attack on one was an attack on all, was in support of America following 9/11. Yet Trump wants to pull out of NATO. Crazy

no sane person could disagree with that

merkel wants to open europes borders to anyone who wants to come in and get the us to police it free of charge

You talk like the germans are happy with the americans policing us? The amount of military bases america has here is ridiculous. Anyone who thinks Germany isn't a slave country of the US is an idiot. Germany has been under the americans since the second world war.

People here are frankly sick of the amount of coverage the elections have got in Germany. The fact is, Germany has been doing the americans a huge favor by allowing everyone in. We are making another money making machine for the american military industry.

is it true that the US  pays 70 percent of the nato bill (heard on aljazeera this morning)

the US is coughing up 72% of the bill for NATO yet there are still EU countries who are not paying their full whack, I'm sure Fritz will disagree but Germany is one of them along with Poland who are currently bleating for more troops to be stationed there.
