I bought his first album,Songs Of Leonard Cohen, when it was released in 1967,, and his second album Songs From A Room ,when it came out in 1969. Both had a huge influence on me at the time, and have continued to do so throughout my life.
He was an exquisite master of the use of words / lyrics, in a beautiful and unique way.
A true poet. A genius. R.I.P

"I did my best, it wasn't much. I couldn't tell so I learned to touch. I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you. And even though it all went wrong, I'll stand before the Lord of Song with nothing on my tongue but hallelujah."
RIP To a Poet Son writer and Musician .

Farewell Leonard Cohen. The afterlife will surely be enriched by his presence.
I'd like to think tonight that he and his former muse, songwriting partner and backing vocalist Queenie W will be serenading the regulars at 'The Heavenly Dog and Duck and Human Rights Lawyer Tavern' with a rendition or two of that timeless classic "First We Take Berlin, Then We Barge Our Way Through Calais to Slurp on Some UK Taxpayers Money".
RIP The Great Man.
