As one prominent pop singer and philosopher railed, "These stupid halfwits have been funding my decadent lifestyle for many years by buying my records and going to my concerts. I even told them what to think and who to vote for but they managed to feck it up, All of this evidence just goes to show that they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a polling booth... erm...."

You've beat me to it Clouseau.

The irony is extraordinary. 'Not My President'. Err, yes he is...

'We reject the President Elect'. So they reject the democratic will of the people.

Liberal fascists who attacked the police (not included in this video) who replied with tear gas. What other things can we reject I wonder?

The liberal mask has slipped. Half this country patiently waited years for a vote on brexit despite being unhappy. Good job they didn't behave like this mob.
Report Injera • November 10, 2016 3:57 PM GMT
Violence has broken out at anti-Trump rallies across America overnight as tens of thousands marched against the President-elect before angry mobs attacked police, started fires and shut down highways.

The streets of downtown Oakland in California were choked with smoke Thursday as police launched tear gas and protesters lit fires, in what became by some distance the most violent of the many protests against the election of Donald Trump.

More than 6,000 protesters were seen on the streets of Oakland with an initially peaceful march down a cop-lined street turning nasty after some protesters threw bottles at officers and torched a police car. An office block was also attacked, daubed with 'f*** Trump' and 'kill Trump' graffiti and then set alight.

And thousands more filled streets in Los Angeles before taking over the 110 Freeway while other protesters gathered outside City Hall, lighting fires and waving Trump heads on sticks. There were 14 arrests.

Amazing...we champion our wonderful Democratic system in the West.

Because the Media and celebrities don't like Trump, suddenly we decide it is no goodCrazy

The Media and celebrities should be ashamed of themselves.

We get all get one vote in a system which is decided by millions of votes, it means at times we not be ruled by the person or party

we voted for, it is decided by majority, live with it!

I think Trump is the best man for the job.

Report ebulGery • November 10, 2016 8:29 PM GMT
I agree, but the argument was made and lost in this country.

It traps us in two party rule.

Not surprisingly the two main parties canvassed this at the timeSad.
Report Hank Hill • November 10, 2016 8:39 PM GMT
IS, I agree it is pointless protesting. I would not have voted for him had I been able to, but I wouldn't protest the result either. Personally I think Gore in 2000 had far more grievances. I would set about trying to change the electoral college system to a system where every vote cast has the same impact on the result.

I think a lot of the increased extremism and violence in this World has been caused by the Credit Crunch myself.

After the Wall Street crash of 1929 Europe became very fascist because of World depression, inadvertently I think it

contributed(not the main cause) to WWII.

I hope the same thing is not happening again, we are retreating to the extremes.

Completely off subjectBlush, but I thought I would throw that in, only my own opinion.

Report treetop • November 10, 2016 11:51 PM GMT
I reckon much of the extremism has developed from a feeling of remoteness as big government became more aloof and talk through the media instead of at local levels which themselves have become metropolitan authorities instead of parish councils, etc. People just do not like big corporations fixing the agenda in their favour, avoiding taxes and buying influence at EU or Whitehall levels. Small businesses have suffered due to excessive regulation which helps big companies who have the resources to comply as the doors get shut to competition.Thats part of the appeal for Farage and, ironically Trump.

We waited patiently for the question to be asked. We answered it. If you can't see that your filibustering, your whinneying, your general lack of grace about the whole issue will just make it worse, then you will have to find out the hard way.

The people of England have demanded Brexit, and we will have Brexit. If we have to separate from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to bring it about, and you ask us again if we would still demand Brexit, we will.

The people of England have spoken. The genie is out of the bottle.

There has been no benefit to England anyway - if there had been, the very people who were inveigled into joining in the first place would not have come out in far greater numbers than any other demographic to correct their mistake.

But as I said, it's all moot. Being in or out of a defunct institution is academic.

We, the people of England - the ones who hadn't spoken yet - have killed the European dream. All that remains is for Marine to tear out its heart.

It is the same shock and disbelief that greeted Brexit. A political elite that had no idea what the People felt because it stopped giving a **** decades ago and a liberal, monied elite above the effects of the mass importation of cheap labour and thus ignorant of the resentment it foments.

It is also a direct result of the abandonment of the working class by the Political Left. You didn't need a degree in psephology to look at the Brexit map of England and see the swathes of Labour territory which ended up swinging the entire Brexit vote. The Democrat states turned Right, as had the former Labour communities of the North.

All their certainties have been smashed, their right to govern ripped away when they thought it was immutable. This disorder is their bile and spite that their credo has been well and truly rejected.

They will not stop. The forces of Remain will not stop.

And when Brexit is half-a*sed, and Trump fails to deliver on his promises, the majority - and let there be no doubt that they are a majority, in both countries - will be even angrier than they were in 2016.

Vive La Revolution.

Great post Jed.

anxious - many on the right of politics including millions of Trump supporting Americans and Brexiteers long for the Democrats/Labour to return to their core values.

Corbyn is anti EU because he's opposed to big business relying on and then exploiting a huge low paid workforce.

Sadly he sided with his party and the Unions who bizarrely wanted to Remain.

Trump is a result of the Clintons and Obama. All the talk should be on why the Clintons are so despised and why Obama was ignored. Every single person wants a leader who can govern successfully and be of sound judgement. Obama called it wrong on Brexit and Trump. That's poor.
