Not true.
Most of the media is amazingly right wing.
Most, not all.
The BBC is sickeningly politically correct, and in its positive discrimination is possibly the biggest discriminator of all.
It has a diversity policy that should have it originators put in jail (or made to spend a few weeks in maybe Brixton or Smethwick).
It isn't particularly anti-gov, as whichever gov in power at any time, is responsible for keeping the BBC afloat.
Most especially it isn't leftist. Never has been, never will be. It's establishment, it's Oxbridge, it's out of touch, it's workers and reporters are often ex party activists, but always conservative party. There was, about 50 years ago, a misleading statement put out about a 'left-wing bias' following a meeting and a report. Only 2 people turned up at the meeting and the report was written by a trustee and (I think) Tory peer, whose name I've forgotten. However, this stigma has stuck ever since and most people in control of the BBC aren't in a rush to get it changed. In fact they'll even occasionally "admit" it.
If you're not sure, Just look at some of the roll call:
Andrew Neil: early chairman of Murdoch's Sky, Editor of Sunday Times, worked as researcher for Conservastives, was chair of Conservative students at Uni.
Laura Kuenssberg, Nick Robinson, both absolutely noted for Torydom (wasn't Nick a fellow Bullingdon boy? and former chair of young Conservatives?)
The top jobs and editorial roles don't have any other party's (former) activists in them.
So to sum up, the BBC is a right-wing organisation which will always support the current government, but is run along idealistic ex-student driven "everybody's equal" lines. Which are PC, but not to be confused with being leftist.
Not that it matters because anyone who opposes the popular chit-chat Brietbart society is a "hand wringing lefty liberal".
