I'm not sure whether i should watch it out of principle,
i can see him coming across as very racist

reading the guardian report the actor playing Farage apparently says
"i know he's a racist"

The trickiest part of becoming the Ukip figurehead, though? Learning how not to detest him. “When I was first asked to play Farage, I hated him so much. I just thought: ‘He’s a racist and there’s nothing charming about this guy whatsoever!’” offers Bishop. “But I watched a lot of footage of him, and unlike all our career politicians he comes across as though he genuinely believes in what he’s doing, rather than trying to climb a greasy political pole... Not that I’m going to vote for him any time soon.”

Yet seeing the actor on TV this morning he never come across as saying anything like
that.

surely it would be much funnier to do a comedy about Diane Abbott
Report The Leopard • October 30, 2016 7:37 PM GMT
Satirical comedy, starring Kevin Bishop as the UKIP leader. A fly-on-the-wall documentary crew follow Farage in the aftermath of the EU referendum and his subsequent resignation as leader of UKIP, claiming that he wants to return to normal life. Adamant that he does not miss the limelight and never wanted to be prime minister, Farage tries to adjust to a routine away from the public eye, filling his days with television, trips to the pub, a new friend in the shape of Donald Trump, and the fresh challenge of growing a moustache
Report Ron-Russian • October 30, 2016 7:40 PM GMT
I could probably laugh at it if it wasn't being done by the BBC.
Report ZenMaster • October 30, 2016 7:49 PM GMT
Sir Nigel has said that he is nervous about the show, but will be watching it.

The BBC have tried so hard to demonise Sir Nigel, this is bound to be another attempt.

Is there anyone on the BBC payroll that admires Sir Nigel?
Considering nigh on 18 million voted to Leave, 52 % of voters, surely someone on their payroll must give him a pat on the back.

Or is it prerequisite to think Sir Nigel is a racist and quote him out of context?

Anyway, i am sure that the show wlll be way off the mark but hopefully entertaining.

It's a totally embarrassing attempt to test the water to see if they
can go against the 52% that voted leave & attract some sort of comedy, why
on earth would you even consider doing that.
The man done an absolute fantastic job but the Luvvies @ the BBC want to make a
comedy show out of him.

he must be without doubt the best spoke politician the UK has.

Cameron or Blair would easily be better candidates to rip the p1ss out of for starters,
so why pick on someone who's just been part of one of the best things to happen
to Britain in a long while Confused
Report ZenMaster • October 30, 2016 11:22 PM GMT
Those 17.5 million Leave voters are also funders of the BBC.
Also every BBC comedian on the panel shows is happy to rip Farage apart to fake laughter.

Not one of them will say anything positive about Farage or Brexit,  even though 17.5 million BBC funders supported it.

Barring those who dodge their licence fee.
Report ZenMaster • October 30, 2016 11:30 PM GMT
Who can say the BBC is impartial.

What would be comical would be Cleggy during his coalition days, lying to millions of students and then being destroyed by Farage on the televised debate on the EU., and then Clegg disowned by the country.
Report Ron-Russian • October 30, 2016 11:35 PM GMT

main man that won it

Report DStyle • October 31, 2016 12:15 AM GMT
not sure a pretty gentle parody of farage is an attack on the 17.5 million people who voted to leave.

my guess would be that a lot of leave voters have little time for the man, and whilst he was instrumental in getting cameron to call the referendum, the idea that it was him, and not Cummings and his gang which tipped it, is pretty fanciful.
Report Ron-Russian • October 31, 2016 12:22 AM GMT
I don't follow any political party tbh, but the way Nigel handled the Brexit campaign
that succeeded made me really take a liking to the man.

so to have a supposed comedy show made out of that person seems very unfair,

& it wasn't even one bit funny

every politician of any relevance is mocked in sketches, cartoons, columns, topical shows and comedies on a near weekly basis.

sure the 30 minute show is a bit more involved, but it was hardly a character assassination.

You don't see Jeremy mocked on the Mock of the Week. Why?
Report mokegibboni • October 31, 2016 1:59 AM GMT
Watched it for a maximum of 30 seconds and I thought this is another BBC left wing attempt at disgracing the wonderful Mr Farage.

As has been said many times below, I've never heard ANYONE from the BBC say a good word about Nigel.

In fact, I stopped watching the BBC news ages ago. Channel 4 news is perhaps even worse than the BBC in their left wing bias!

Forgetting the question of if the BBC is left wing.

It certainly opposed leaving the EU, which has always made it biased against Farage and UKIP.
It would rather bend over backwards to demonise Farage, quote him out of context than to admit he is telling the truth.

Didn't watch it but farage is by far the best politician in this country ...

you know absolutely what he stands for, he is articulate and speaks in straight lines.

Compare him to, eg, Cameron, Cleggy, May (no idea what she stands for except fancy shoes) Labour politicos (excl Jeremy, I like him because he's leading the socialists somewhere - and I don't think they'll ever come back, but I think he's honest).

You think the BBC are left wing ? What planet are you on !!!!

I do facts, the prejudice comes from within the production staff who take their lead on so many discussion programmes from The Guardian,a minority paper that would probably go out of business without the public sector sales and advertising it receives. People like Paul Mason who was an economics editor whilst vehemently left wing until he left, the News prorgramme on radio 4, every comedian who appears on the BBC slants the humour against the conservatives whilst giving the left a free ride, however crazy they can be,etc, etc.
