Nice to have a good old fashioned straight talking newsreader back, instead of the regular Tom Bradby, with his stupid deep breathing and long pauses who reads the news as though he's talking to his mates in the pub.

It would be good to see Alastair Burnet come back.

I don't think so. He died 4 years ago !!!Sad
Report EvgenyKissin • October 28, 2016 10:29 PM BST
Really? I thought I saw him on something recently. Must have been someone else!

One bad thing about Burnet was he was a bit of a royal sycophant.
Report Facts • October 28, 2016 10:31 PM BST
Yes, he was. Spitting Image  had his mark !

They were all gentlemen, back then. Andrew Gardner was my favourite. His delivery was immaculate.

Have you heard of Google, Culvin ?
Report EvgenyKissin • October 28, 2016 10:57 PM BST
Richard Baker as well who I am pleased to inform you is still going at 91 years young Happy.

I have always liked Brian Perkins presenting the news and Nick Clarke - the latter sadly passed away a few years ago.
