As for the audience - well, only really the young lady who spoke near the beginning did so with class and dignity.

A sad state of affairs for Labour. Either Corbyn or Smith. Sad
Going to take a long time for Labour to recover and be an effective opposition.
Totally unelectable.

Report Just Checking • September 9, 2016 5:23 PM BST
I missed this but on daily politics they seemed to it was the usual that happens when you get a collection of f***witted left wing idiots together, they formed a rude loud mob? In this case against Owen. I don't know why in these "debates" they let this happen. Same happened with the in the Scottish independence debates, hijacked by the very vocal and stupid left.

It was far better in the last election debates when the audience were told to shut up!

Report Injera • September 9, 2016 7:12 PM BST
Matters not one jot.

Both claim to be socialists but I doubt either knows what it means.

JC wins but will the 180 who gave him a vote of 'No Confidence' have the bottle to give up £74k and force 180 bi elections?

I'm thinking....nope.

Those of us who do not adhere to the politics of Mr Corbyn/Smith still long for a credible opposition.

The oppo have an open goal anxious. A PM (Mrs May) who, like Brown was uncontested and has no mandate from the voters. Labour should be pressuring her to deliver Brexit and  hold a GE. They should highlight Calais, scrounging and criminal UK based immigrants and warn her that the country faces imminent Islamic attacks from disaffected UK passport holders who hate the nation that has given them a home.

In short, Labour should be the party of you and me.

Instead, they are in a state of civil war and have Tony Blair and his cronies on their shoulders, dictating their every move.

As a UKIP voter, I BEG Labour to wake up and represent this country's rank and file.

As I say, it's an open goal but they choose to look the other way.

Report mafeking • September 9, 2016 9:32 PM BST
as i understand it the 170 who voted against corbyn could simply form their own new party, they will then become the official opposition and will be on the opposition front bench with 6 questions at PMQs whereas corbyn's rabble will relegated to behind even the SNP

they certainly won't resigning their seats and forcing by elections
Report anxious • September 9, 2016 10:32 PM BST
When Jeremy wins about 100 will fall back into line leaving a rump of about 60 who can either accept the result or join their friends on the tory benches that is will what happens, if that fails they will be de-selected
Report Dr Crippen • September 9, 2016 10:34 PM BST
If a few of them formed a new party, it would be anyone's guess how many of the 170 would leave Labour and go with them.
Report Dr Crippen • September 9, 2016 10:38 PM BST

It shows that they should never be trusted to be put in office again after coming apart so readily.

No they don't,  younger people don't think differently at all.

They'll make the same mistakes that their predecessors made without learning from them.
The same as all generations fail to learn from the ones who are older. They'll have to learn the hard way.
Report Just Checking • September 10, 2016 12:49 AM BST
Labour are totally totally unelectable, they are ****ed.
I think they'll split. Corbyn is a bell end, his supporters have entered Labour and eaten it out from the inside.
Anxious and his "if you aren't like corbyn you are a tory" sums up the extremist nonsense that will rip them apart.

Report Dr Crippen • September 10, 2016 11:09 AM BST
Corbyn is one of these Labour MPs who would never be a minister in any government simply because he isn't good enough.
Galloway is another, and so is Skinner.

So they rock the boat one way or another to gain notoriety and that brings a certain amount of extra work their way. Galloway hit the jackpot.

So it must have come as a shock to Corbyn to find himself as Labour leader. Given the path he had chosen to go down in his search for attention.

I think you are missing the point of the criticism of Corbyn and his closet allies.
It goes beyond party politics and is purely to do with their histories and abilities (lack of)
